Lubed my first 356637 147 gr fn 9mm tonight and I am getting lube on the base of the bullet....it is a bevel base. I am using a Lyman 450 with RCBS lube. Is there anything I can do to stop this?....if not any tips to remove quickly?

Bullet is entering the die to deeply. Screw the adjustment screw up a bit until it goes away. Back down the pressure a bit too.

How many holes does your die have versus lube grooves on your bullet? If it's more than the number of lube grooves on your bullet, plug the remaining holes with shot, toothpick bits, etc. That should do the trick.

SG - I'm not sure if plugging holes will solve your issue. I have an older Lyman (a 45) and the way the bullets are pushed down base first, if you are using a flat bottom punch then any open holes will fill the space left by the base's bevel on the way down to the grease grooves getting filled. Check to see if there is a bottom punch that fits your bullet as this will cradle the base and eliminate the open space that the lube is filling.

I hate to admit this, but I'm not sure. I thought they existed when I posted my reply, but now that you've asked where you can get one, I've done some searches and can't find them. I wish I remembered where I first read about them... (It might be that someone machined the flat bottom punch to match the bottom of the bullet.) You might get an answer by asking over at the cast bullet association's site.
