Price was right. Getting it from another forum. NIB, 300rds fired. First 9mm. Was saving up for a HK P7, but you know how things go. I'll try it out and if I don't like it, I can probably flip it at the gun show.

That's a Beretta under a different name, right?

Looks dangerous. Don't point it at the dog.

Yes. Beretta moved the production to Turkey for cheaper labor. They market it under their Stoeger company and reserve the PX Storm line as their Beretta product. When Beretta switches gears, they ditch their current line to one of their other companies to market and move forward with the new line. In a few years, the PX Storm line will be given to another Beretta company as Beretta tools up for a different line of models. Seems every 5-8 years they change lines. When I worked for the gun dealer about 6 years ago, the Cougar 8000 series was just being released by Beretta. They still make the compact Cougars, but the full size models are being made in Turkey by Stoeger Industries (a Beretta company) and the SRP ($449) has been slashed considerably. They are made with Beretta machinery in a different plant/location.

It's a toss up between this and the SR9.

I have a 8045 mini-Cougar. It is pretty nice. Almost no recoil. The rotating barrel cuts the recoil considerably.

That's one of the reasons why I'm buying it. I never fired a rotating barrel gun and want to try it out.

I hear they torque sideways some. Energy has to go someplace.

Please post a range report when you get to shoot it.

Will do. MO should be there today or tomorrow and it's being overnighted.

Well, took a few days. Got delivered Saturday but I missed the mail man by a half hour as we left for WI at 930am and he got there a little after 10am. Got back in town today at 230pm, changed for work, went to the PO to get the gun, quick stop at BK for food and got to check it out a little.
Came with 2-15rd mags, 2 brushes, a cleaning rod (like Glocks), manual, case, lock, and box with manual. Gun is very nice condition. Doesn't even look fired.
I need some 9mm dies and a 550 conv kit. Might start with the dies and break out the LCT for a few short runs. Got WSF, 231, #9 (too slow), LS, and WSF. Only caps I got are magnums for the .357 Mag.
Prolly be a while before I tool up enough to shoot some loads. My dealer discount on ammo from my distributors is FANTASTIC. I might actually be able to afford factory ammo. Magtech 115gr ball is $10.75/50.
Feels good in the hand. This is the first DA/SA gun I own. Nice weight, but light for carry.
Try finding a holster though. Be a while before I get a range report. Might buy factory locally and run 50rds to see if I should bother with it or flip it at the gun show.

Fast food, Adam?
$10.75/50, that's nuts! Wal-Mart is $18/100!
Check your email in a few.

Adam,
A PX4 holster fits my 8045 perfectly. I think that the 8000 is slightly smaller though.

Methinks you'll like the Cougars. My 8045F is somewhat of a safe queen, but it's also a real pleasure to shoot. Nice find!
