So I've been noticing that on almost every case I run through this Lee resizing die the mouth seems to catch on the opening of the die. Each time I have to manually adjust the case to line up with the die better & it runs through just fine.

I've also been noticing that the bottom of the tooling mark the die leaves on each case isn't parallel with the mouth or base of the case. So I start wondering- what's causing this weird misalignment. I'm looking over the shell plate, measuring the press & the tool-head. Protracting & plumb-bobing the angles & what do I find...

The bevel on the carbide ring of the resizing die isn't centered properly. One side has plenty of bevel but 180* from that is almost no bevel. :prrr: Well, there's your problem!

Anyone got any recommendations for how to solve the problem short of buying a new die?

Play with the indexing plaws, adjust the allen screws in no more than half turn steps.

Now you know why LEE products cost less than other brands.

It's obviously a factory defect- send it back to Lee for a new one.

I think you should spend a good month or two trying to make a defective product work. Then send it back so Lee can send you a new one nice and easy.

that sounds very similar to the problem I am having with my 9mm die set that came with my LCT. The expander/powder thru die scratches the crap out of the cases. The RCBS dies I have dont do this so it has to be a screwed up die. But Lee tells me its not, WTF?

Lee dies are like those 80% AR lowers.
