Anyway, been in my front yard ever since ... 600 lb steel hub with a 200 lb bronze gear tooth ring on it ... should check into trading it for lead ... make Mama happy to see it go

A year or two ago I got alot of WL pennies back as change at a couple different places in Albany. I wondered how they got back into circulation.
It's strange getting one back as change occasionally but to get 3 or 4 back at a time, at different places in the same week is really odd.

By the way JJB, where you sellin' your scrap at? Shnitzers Southeast?

collecteur is definitely someone who eats snails and surrenders. A lot.

I think Shnitzers is Pennsylvania-Dutch. They OK.

JJB, find out how much she's gettin' for the scrap. Shnitzer's pays double what the guys in Tifton and some other scrap yards pay.
No 1 copper is bringing $3.10 a lb, No 2 is bringing about $2.85 lb, good prices for around here. (It's how I support my gun\reloading habit)
If'n she gettin' much more than that, let me know where and I'll start toten' mine over your way.:driving:

It just makes me sick thinking how much money (in scrap wire) I've thrown in the trash during my 20 years in the comm bidnes'.:cryin:

Sorry, Mark.

I was tagging my question to get email notification.

What's the minimum amount of copper that a reputable metal recycler will accept for cash? And what about brass?

I'm not talking something like less than a few pounds, but do they want to see 20+ pounds to get a good reading on their scale?
