amount of ammunition you need? Anyone know?
For me...
1K pistol
2K rifle
Ball ammo works just fine in my opinion.
Plus specialty stuff like shotgun ammo, or rimfire.
Thankfully, rimfire is cheap.
What about you?

A couple magazines.
Going to have to take it all off when we get on the plane.

If we have a Katrina style disaster, and we can fly out if I give them my guns, I'll give them the guns, then sue them later to get them back.
If there's a flight out of a disaster area, we're boarding.

Anyone who thinks you will need massive amounts of ammo in the event of WWIII on US soil is mistaken. You're going to kill your enemy and use his.
Look at the Liberator, one shot, one kill...

I can only tell you what I know of friends and family in South MS who returned to what was left of their homes. Some of my family had their home survive both Camille and Katrina.
Everyone here owns rifles and shotguns, primarily for hunting but equally effective as a looting deterrant. If you noticed, we didn't have issues with our firearms being taken away from us like what happened in NOrleans. For one, the MS residents didn't act like FOOLS and for two, many of those who stuck it out or came back immediately after the disaster left huge signs up that looting would NOT be tolerated. Our governor was quick to step in and do what should have happened in LA.

Hmm. good point. I generally think that ammo is often put before more important stuff. Be it water, food, TP, you name it, it always seems to come last.
A lot of people will be really upset when they cannot eat their bullets.

Got to love how we handled that situation compared to the liberals in N.O.
I love Mississippi.

You know, Steve, I was just sitting here thinking, after I read your post, and it occurred to me that that I should have worded what I said differently-- the way it is, it COULD be construed to reflect on my life so far... :yikes:

Errybody know Katrina was a result of da US gubmint testing weather control technology.
They wanted to guide dat hurricane right up da snoot a NO so it a be wiped out an rich white folk could rebuild da whole 9th ward into luxury ocean front property.
Dat, plus it was a lil experiment in seeing how people in crisis react to their situation. Illuminati already say too many people on earth ta suit they taste, so thinnin da herd in a lil test run in NO wasn't no big deal.
So, how much ammo you need is gonna depend on who you actually is and who causin da SHTF.
I a say maybe 200 rnds total. Enough ta eat, defend yaself if ya have to, an enough ta lend ya neighbors if they need it.
It ain't gonna be like DOOM or any a dat crap. Their ain't gonna be a civilian resistance winnin no war against tanks and helicopters on da streets.
At da point where thangs get as bad as Katrina, you a be just as worried about da snakes, disease an gettin somethin ta eat as you would dealin wit some crackhead tryin ta take ya stereo.
What ya gonna do ? Sit on top a ya roof an shoot people lookin for food ? How you know anyone dat come up to you an act friendly ain't jus tryin ta get up next to ya until they know where your food is, then jus cap your ass when ya turn around for a second ?
Best thang, account for all ya loved ones, GTFO if ya can, if ya cain't, jus start prayin, cause it been proven a hundred times over, da human element a turn on each other at da drop of a hat if they long enough in a bad situation

I got no use for a roof mounted ma duece in a situation like that, just need the ability to feed my family and my .30-06 will do just fine for that. Got me a .45 for snakes and a place to run to way the hell back in the middle of nowhere.

Two pistols and a riot gun 12ga ,,,, 100 rds for each
Generally the big disaster shoot out wont happen , people help each other. Sure there maybe some door knob twisters or looters , they will get the bums rush . :subgun:
"Their ain't gonna be a civilian resistance winnin no war against tanks and helicopters on da streets."
I know just where to hit them , they fold up like a lawn chair ( sworn to secrecy )
I got no use for a roof mounted ma deuceMaybe not. But it might be fun entertainment till the TV & the Interweb come back on-line.
Not to mention... if you had a roof mounted ma deuce, you could just kinda sit up there cleaning the thing & appreciating the moon & stars for an hour those first few evenings & everybody gonna know you need to be the last one they start trifling with over beans & rice no matter how bad it gets. Think of the roof-mounted ma-deuce as the poor man's mutually assured destruction. :bigun2:

Damn Yall some Ammo Packin sun of a Guns. I'm thinking more like Grab my B.O.B. with all the seasonal typicals
Maybe 100 revolver rounds *yes I said revolver* maybe 3-4 mags and the AK.
*If the Real SHTF*---->The Rest of the house and reloading area will get the luxury of a kicked over 5 gallon bucket of Gasoline and a Zippo left burning on the Bottom step of the Basement as I haul ass outta there.
If I cant have all my stock pile of Ammo/supplies then no one can.....Game Over!
After that I'm with MMP99....I'll have enough to get what I need. I will be avoiding crowds and Making way towards 1 of 4 destinations already pre planned out in advance.

Our first choice is always to leave.
When we go, the neighbors already know where the supplies we'll leave behind are stored and how to get to them so they can make use of them if they need them.
Well, gulf coast might get another shot at a Katrina style event with Gustov. South Texas & Louisiana crews - what be da plans? Bunker down and man the walls, or close up and get out?

Liberator held a few shots in the handle though incase you missed. Me I would not trust a stamped handgun and would opt for a rock.

Well I will just take their food with my bullets. So no need to carry around food, just prey on those without guns dat have da food. Isnt that how it works? That food gets heavy after a while.

I can afford the rock, but the last leberator I saw at a show I could not afford. therefore the rock will suffice. History question of the day. How many liberators were diiberately dropped into the ocean instead of allied hands.

speedracer211

It was a stamped gun that was mass produced by a US car manufacturer. Air dropped into a suppossed allied position without instructions i believe. You were supossed to use your one shot "lack of a magazine" bullets stored in the grip to use your one shot and take out the enemy and obtain their weapon. Many were not dropped where they should have and thousands ended up in the water.

The M1942 Flare projector was produced by the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, along with M3 Subguns (Grease guns) and Carbines. It was a black ops project from the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).
The pistol took 7 seconds to produce and cost the Government $2.40 during WWII. It was the only firearm in history that took longer to load than to make.
Stamped and welded sheet metal, the Liberator was a crude pistol, which came packed with 10 rounds on .45 ACP in the butt stock and pictographic instructions. Ejection of the fired case had to be done using a pencil or similar instrument. The Liberator was meant to be used to slip up on an ememy soldier, kill him and take his weapon. They were dropped to resistance troops in the European and Pacific theaters.

In a Katrina style event I'm gonna have 37 rounds of .40 on me, 4 buck shot and 2 slugs..... (my duty gear) cause the dept is gonna have me working double shifts till its' over.
My wife at home however will have a venerable arsenal of .44 mag, 9mm, 45/70 govt , .22lR , 12 gauge and .357 Mag. Not that she would touch any of it. She would probably give our guns away if I died. She's such a pacifist. Shesh! Her dad, raised in the country on a farm has never even had anything more than an old .22 colt woodsman. I gave him my Smith Airlite 38 (backup gun) just so he would have a real gun. My father however was at my house and saw my Kahr P45 and took a shine to it. I gave it to him on the spot just because he liked it.
I've got alot of guns.... really I do. They're just scattered among my friends and family.
