ENTRY FEE INCREASING MARCH 25th – REMAINING SLOTS MAY BE FILLED – ACT NOW
The entry fee for the state match increases after March 25th from $120 to $140. Registration entries postmarked after 3/25/08 will cost $20 more - $140. Let your fellow shooters know not to wait until all 200 slots for the state match have been filled. There are currently close to 100 paid entrants.

ROUND COUNT IS 183+
The minimum round count is 183 for the 14 stages. If we finish shooting the match on Saturday, then we will offer a challenging and unique man-on-man steel side match on Sunday morning. If the number of competitors or conditions necessitate shooting well into Sunday morning, then any side matches will not be possible. ARMSCOR currently plans to sell complete ammunition at dealer pricing! In addition, ARMSCOR plans to offer brass and bullet heads for sale.

BRING SUN BLOCK AND SHADE
The pistol bays at Desert Sportsman Rifle and Pistol Club do not have permanent shade. If we are able to obtain temporary shade it will be limited. Bring sun block and your own shade. Drink plenty of water. This is the desert. With the low humidity, you dehydrate simply standing around. Plans are for the food vendor to sell beverages. A beverage will be provided with your included lunch on Saturday and the BBQ on Sunday.

EQUIPMENT CHECKS
Yes, we will actually be weighing each and every gun, in addition to verifying your pistol fits in an IDPA dimensional box, and that the ammunition through your gun achieves the required power factor. Periodic equipment checks will also be conducted to make sure you remain in compliance. Questions? Visit the appropriate sections in the rulebook.

CHECK OUT THE PRIZE TABLE, VISIT THE WEBSITE FOR UPDATES AND INFO

It is the best place for the most up to date information and announcements. Flashlights will not be needed. Commute time from the strip or downtown should not normally exceed 45 minutes, 30 minutes with ideal traffic.

Thank You And See You At The Range,

Dennis Hull

Yes, there were exactly 10 SSP expert shooters, barely enough to "graduate" me to master. I hope like hell I shoot master this Saturday at the classifier.

Jimruger9 also shot like a banchee, finishing 4th of 16 for SSP Marksmen.

Jim and I were SO's on stage 1. We saw some amazing shooters. After the match we chatted with Donnie Burton for a bit. Donnie absolutely smoked stage 1, it was farking unbelievable. Very nice guy.

Donnie usually makes it to the Carolina Cup.

Always fun to watch that kid.

Hope he's coming again this year.

Oh, I almost forgot.

Congrats, Steve.

If I don't move up in SC in two weeks, I will have to shoot the classifier in SSP before I can shoot another major. I last shot it a year ago May. I only lacked 2.98 seconds of making Master. Shouldn't be an issue if I have to shoot it.

I'd rather have the hardware though.

Thanks Bogey. Sounds like you and I have the same disease - we shoot matches better than the classifier. I've probably shot the classifier 6 times between 101 and 105 seconds.

I shot 98.84 at the classifier today (SSP). Missed shooting MA by .02 seconds! Frickin' frackin'...

It was blowing like a hurricane, so I don't feel too bad about it. When we started shooting stage 3, I turned to talk to the squad and the barricade blew over and conked me on the head.

I had a reverse head shot on stage 3 - the head was blown over down over the body, and the bullet went through the back of the head and into then into the body. The SO wouldn't give me credit for the head shot though.
