Yup...finally happened. Had a squib today during practice before my normal Monday night matches. Thankfully it was during warm up's so I was able to extract the round before the match. No damage, and the G35 still shot like a dream.

I get one every 500 or 1000 rounds , instead of beating it out with a rod . I am thinking of just primer & powder loads with a wad. As soon as I hear that pop ! slide in pusher load to blow it out .
I have done this with wheel guns , pry the slug out of a case . Fire the other one out . You already have the bullet started ,so it not a pressure issue .

No harm, no foul. I'm glad you and the gun are OK.

That is a lot of squibs brother. Do you watch TV or something while reloading? Not being a smart butt here, just concerned with your average and safety.

I never run more than 100 -200 rds in one setup . I rarely run out of primers or powder . My battle cry is better a squib than a double load . I run a lot of target loads under 5 grs , if I crush a case sizing , miss a primer seating , they all keep going around or get thrown out .Once you stop to refill a missed case or reset something ,,a double charge easy to do . Yes I have a light over the bullet seating die
No TV , I stop every 50 to check cases in the feeder .

Even with a Super 1050, I peer into each case before I seat the bullet.

Sometimes I dance on the wrong side of the speed VS quality line .

I would run a RCBS lockout die, if you're going for speed, one squib per 500-1000 is not good.

Even if you're not going for speed, one squib per 1000 is pretty damned scary.

I may be wrong ,I have to count my empties in the 1k primer boxes . Maybe I'm thinking total failures , high primer , backwards seat prime .

I had one the other day, luckily Yammer was with me and had a rod. I can say it wasn't my reloaded round, so I can blame it on my dad. I haven't reloaded a squib yet. Now that I'm braggin, my guns gonna blow up tomorrow.

Or funny depending on the outcome.

Nahhh...ain't that bad. First squib and I've loaded about 5 - 6K rounds so far.
The kicker is that I knew I had a squib load in my rounds. When I load I usually stop and weigh my charges to make sure I'm consistent and the charges aren't off. Well, one day a few weeks back, I stopped and weighed a round then continued loading. After loading 3 or 4 more rounds I looked up and saw the powder still on the scale! :yikes: By that point I had about 300 rounds in the finished pile and I couldn't tell which one had now powder.
I actually weighed a few rounds to find the average weight of a fully loaded round, then I started weighing each round in the pile of 300 hoping to find the one that weighed the lightest. Well, I was tired, and didn't seem to be getting anywhere, so I stopped and figured "Well worst case is I get a squib".
So...got the squib and now I know I'm fine with the my remaining rounds.
Besides...gotta have some fun once in while...idling punching rounds in paper is no fun unless you have a malfunction once in a while to keep you on your toes!! :)
I did kinda the same thing once. I had about 400 rounds loaded and had a funny feeling there might be a squib in there. I used that ammo for practicing accuracy, strong hand/weak hand. In the end, there wasn't one after all.

yeah, when i announced my squibb on GTR and you suggested if one was zero charge, then one of the others might be double charged.
since i didn't have a squib rod with me on the squib trip, i brought the gun and remaing ammo home. I ended up beating the other 80 rounds or so apart looking for the double....
no double but no regrets, it perfected my technique with the impact bullet puller.
I was positive there wasn't a double, case would have overflowed.

HAHA that is exactly how I got my squib. I knew I had a squib among the 100 rds, so I just marked the box and paid attention when I shot them. I've only had one other squib abd that was due to contaminated powder (there was oil in the case I think).
