View Full Version : Out of shape bought bullets - how common are they?

In the last two boxes of Berry's 115GR RN bullets I've had two mis-shapes - one was more of a "half bullet" - flat top etc, the other I didn't notice until it jammed up my gun so good I thought I wouldnt unjam it without a hammer (it did unjam but took 4 good whacks to get it unjammed) - the mis-shaped caused the weapon to jam out of battery.

So how common are these mis-shaped?

Are their double-struck bullets free of such imperfections?

Any manufacturers you've used where these things just don't happen?

I can say that I have loaded about 4,000 of these - and not a hitch up to now, then two in the last two boxes - hoping to get through the rest without so many troubled rounds.

thx

I've heard of the once in a while mis-shaped bullet from berrys. if you call them they'll usually make right by you. I've always had great luck with them.

I haven't seen too many banged up bullets from Berry's over the years, but I have found a whole lotta bullets of a different weight in a box.

In a box of 9mm 124's I've found .357 bullets weighing 158gr

Not many in any one box, most have none, but in prolly 5 years I've seen the same thing 10+ times.

Usually pretty easy to spot.
