I went over to a new friends house after work and loaded a few on his 550. I was loading 9mm and it had Dillon dies. I actually got to set up the dies and adjust the powder measure for what I wanted. It was very nice. The powder measure was very consistant, a little hard to adjust but I'm sure the micrometer upgrade would make that a lot easier. I was very happy with the primer feed, I could see every primer before it was pushed under the case. It was also very easy to see the powder charge before I advanced it to the seating die. I could actually see the powder charge at both stations, under the powder measure and under the seating die. It took a little getting used to after using an auto index LCT but it wasn't that bad. I also don't think it would be as easy to double charge as some of the stories I have heard as long as you are paying attention. I think this will be my next press when I decide I need to go progressive.

I really like mine Ive only had it around a week or so I also used a auto indexing machine and it is hard to get use to manual indexing but so far 500 rounds of 45's and 10mm and only had 1 primer issue and that was the dies fault the depriming pin popped up.....no other problems at all Oh I take that back I want more stuff for it thats a BIG problem

Yea I think they have something with that 550. Had a local guy wanting to try reloading. Told him all about the Lee turrents and recommended that be a good place to start, got him a couple catalogs, then he came over and checked out my 550 setup.

Said he would think about it, I figured he may just decide to not get into it, about a week later he has an entire 550 setup in 3 or 4 calibers.

Not until I shoot enough to justify it. My LCT still makes ammo a lot faster than I shoot it.

Don't forget to consider an LnL AP. Not knocking Dillon or the 550 - but the Lnl is also pretty nice for about the same price as the 550.

Now you've gone & done it, drank from the Blue lagoon & noe you are hooked. Good thing it wasn't a 650 you played with!:yesnod: Maybe I should sell you one of my 550B & upgrade to a 650, Hmmm.

Um....Almost a year? I think. It seems like a long time, and I've loaded enough ammo on it to know that I'll probably always have one.

One of these days, I'm gonna add up all the rounds I've made on my 550. I'll bet it's still under 100k, but not by much.

That's the bad part Fred. He also has a 650 that he said I can come over any time and try out also. I have another friend with a 650 that said I can load on it any time I want. Looks like it's only a matter of time.:yesnod:

Rusty, why don't you just get some components and drop in on your friends?
