I finally got my hands on some AA #5 in this town...Walked into the indoor range and they had one bottle of it on their shelf.....Nobody in this town had it, and I am trying to get a powder order together with some amigos, and was dreading that $20 fee.......I seen where it's bad Mojo in a Glock .40...but since I don't shoot or plan to own a .40 it's okay.....Has anybody loaded AA#5 for use in a Glock .45?? The 2 Glocks I currently own are a G21 SF and a G36....I'm planning on working up some 230 gr FMJ loads...find something I like and then fill up a buncha ammo cans...I also have a couple of 1911's I plan to shoot it in, but I was more concerned about the chamber support in the Glocks...I plan on loading mild loads only and am not looking for anything major. Looking for load recommendations that I can cross reference. I know AA#5 is Slick approved and he likes it somewhere around the 8.0 gr mark.

Yep. I use #5 for all of my pistols. Good stuff.
I use 8.2 in the Glock 21SF. Works good.

#5 is my favorite powder for 45 ACP for full power loads. I use a load that is a dupe of hardball for a range time.

Just got back from the range. Loaded about 12 rounds with 7.8gr, and 15 rounds with 8.0gr. both with a OAL of 1.262. The 7.8 gr seemed pretty hot. Definately a noticeable difference to WWB 230gr FMJ loads that I also shot. Primers were flattenning out....worried me so much I didn't even shoot the 8.0gr I loaded. Thinking about backing it down a little. Shot out of a G21 SF....maybe 7.0-7.5gr next time.

AA#5 Bad Juju in a .40?....Hmm I was thinking about trying a Pound.
I shoot .38,.357,.40,.41,.41,.44....I see load data for almost all.
There was a Good article in Handloader Mag that talks the Powder up the Wall ...and back Down.

And that doesn't seem too hot to you?...just wondering. The 7.8 gr that I fired seemed pretty hot. Flattened out primers and more kick than WWB...gonna load some 7.0, 7.3 and 7.5 and see what I get with that.
