How and what do you test yo' H.P. rounds with, in, on or by?

Seems most of us have a little stockpile of self defense loads stashed somewhere's about our various huts and castles. How do you test 'em. if you do that is. If you don't, why not? I know some folks in more urban congested areas don't get too many opprotunities to do so. If that's the case, maybe one of us out in the sticks can brew up your loads and shoot em' at water jugs, wet news papers, wet phone books, home made cadavers and such.

Myself? I usually shoot em' at water jugs and wet news paper or phone books. I gotta decent pile of phone books to use. I even made my own goo jello outta' Meta-Musil in some 1 gallon water jugs. If anything, there fun as hell to shoot at as I got bored stiff with punchin' holes in paper years ago.

I've done a little gel testing with a couple shooting buds.

It wasn't ballistic gel like Marvin Fackler uses, but pretty close if what ya read on da net is true.

Fotays did real nice, 10mm exploded it all over the place. 9mm did about like the fotay. Crack Killa next to test in about two months

I follow the Det. CZ school of thought, about all of the modern day ammo perform similar, pick one and run with it. I happen to like the Ranger line, RA9TA in 9x19mm, which is what I carry and I can get it cheap from a local source.

I know that bullets performance can be pretty random. But hand rollin' your own........ I know I gotta know what happens. It would be the cause of many a sleepless night.

If you live in the city you can usually find plenty of pot/coke dealers hanging in da hood. If you live in/near a white trash slum you should be able to find some meth dealers.
