I looked at those two race guns for competition.
A friend of mine let me use his SVI and I was astonished by the accuracy of it.
Anybody with intresting input on these ?
never got a close look at an SVI, but come next week i'm planning on ordering a pair of STIs.

STI & SVI is the end result of the 2 fellas that designed the 2 piece frame splitting up shortly after getting the frame to market. Each 1 maintained rights to produce the frame or some such.
The frames and plastic grip is identical, just the maker marks on the frame & grip is different. Rest is products built by each name...
I have the SVI frame myself, Caspian slide, Nowlin 38 Super bull barrel (ramped), SV mags, C-More .
Mags can swap, but you need the correct follower to match the tube I think,, and you can visually tell the SV tube from the STI tube, as the SV tube is compressed on the sides, where the STI tubes is more flat with small straight creases/folds.

I think Chip McCormick had a place in there too (they originally called them McCormick frames, I believe).
The STI's are more mass production...well, semi-mass. STI is easier to get...off the shelf guns, frames, slides and parts.
SV...are more custom built. They continue to innovate on almost all the components that go into the gun. They cnc machine almost all the parts from billet, it seems. Some really good stuff and good ideas...
Me...I shoot a Glock.
SVI is the sig P210 of 1911. The machine these things to aerospace tolerances and you end up with a benchrest grade 1911.
