I've got lots of guns but this is perhaps the most interesting. There's only about 1500 of these in existance and they're all held by the Memphis Police Dept. There were commisioned by Memphis Police and nobody else in the world has them. Sig Sauer even refers to this model as "The Memphis Sig".

It's my duty gun.

It's a Sig 229 that has been engineered to be double action only with a magazine disconnect.

It's a good duty gun for liability reasons (which was the driving force behind it's creation) but it's not a fun gun to shoot and not the most accurate to shoot with the magazine disconnect. Those things work a bad magic on triggers. As you can see, there's no decocker and they don't really "slick up" with use like the DA/SA 229.

It's the most unique and "collectable" gun I have but it's only mine till the dept. takes it away.

Thanks, I don't know how old it is because I bought it used but it is very clean so I had to buy it. I don't know if the half lug barrel gives any kind of clue to the age for somebody that knows more about them than me. I would be interested to know about how old it is.

Nah, it's such an oddity i'll be keeping it. I've seen them sell these days for almost $500, it was a $300 impulse gunshow purchase a few years ago

Something about factory bullpups makes me buy them.... have a Bushmaster M17s on my bench right now getting prepped for duracoating.

That's a great lookin grip Nitro, what did you make it out of?

I made aluminum grip panels then vacuum bagged 2 layers of Carbon Fiber to them. I have not mounted the screws(need to order them from Ruger) But they fit so Tight that their not really needed. I have polished them since the pic so the cloudiness near the flash reflection is now gone.

You should see your photo on the photobucket page in your album. Then double click in the lowest text box for the image link to be copied, then just paste it in the thread and it should show up.

Usually when you get a broken link it's because you took some action in the middle of the upload.

Upload again and just let it lag until it catches up with itself or if you keep having trouble try doing it with a different browser.

Very nice.

Old school all da way

It can jam at times and be a bit finicky with ammo choices, but it's also the first gun I pick up when teaching people to shoot. When you hold it, it just feels like a semiauto pistol should. It has a special place with me, and despite its rough edges I don't believe I'll ever part with it.

They arnt cheap, sometimes you can run across one at a gun show,or maybe even a gun store. 1,500 is about average, and they can go up from there. Mine is in the High dollar range do to its wood and high end componets. I have a friend that has one that cost over 2,5000 to build.

they are sweet guns though, once you shoot one you'd understand. they are starting to gain a popularity.

ever once in a while you can find one around 1,000. but CHECK every thing on it.

also try JLD and DSA. sometimes you can get a deal on one.:bigun2::patriot:

The photo I've posted show 3 type 14 Nambu pistol of different production dates. There is also a "Baby" Nambu that is very rare by collector standards. This example dates from the early 1920's. It shot its own calibre round called (naturally) 7mm Nambu. I converted .30 Carbine cases using the RCBS case forming dies. I have a 2 cavity Hensley and Gibbs mould.

This Baby is one of approx 6,000 produced. I have small hands and it fits me perfectly. A joy to shoot. Collectors of Japanese pistol cringe when I shoot it, but that's the beauty of handloading; I have tailored my loads to cycle the action and have avoided battering this beauty with stronger than necessary rounds.

I have 16 more type 14s in my collection together with a fine example of a Papa.

For the Type 14s, I obtained many years ago, a stash of Midway 8mm brass and use a 4 cavity H&G mould.

Of interest, you can see the modified trigger guard on the 1 pistol that permitted wearing glove when using the pistol.

Cheers,

Ramon

I thought I had at least heard of about every gun made.

Wrong

Add Nambu to the "now have heard of" list.... nice collection.

Thanks

You won't be disappointed. My security six has the best trigger out of any gun I own, and is utterly reliable and controllable (even for my GF who has a problem with the recoil of a .40 S&W).

That's the guy that ran WR vet hospital where the vets get treated like dogs.

If you people want a good look at socialized medical care, look a Walter Reed. Then think of that becoming your local hospital.

As an American tax payer, I'm appalled and disgusted with the way we (the government) treats our veterans, especially the ones that need medical care.

I be in Central New Mexico, right off of I-40 and one of the main "Elk vains." So's huntin' is a local cash cow for the area. I heard Ted Nugget was here recently filmin' one of his Spirit of the Wild shows.
However, the Wally World in Rio Rancho, NM where my girlfriend lives don't sell any firearms. Just ammo.

Anvil, read your post about the "unique" SiG......a shame that burrocratz can mess with a good design & screw it up sooooooooo bad !

They can't come up with good policy, where do they get the idea that they can design a firearm ?!?

uncle albert

ps.

OSSI, the o/u is cool, but here it needs a min. 18" bbl.
The SiG 210 is beyond reproach, they are a FANTASTIC firearm. Somehow, match grade & 9mm don't go together, but that pistol is the exception to the rule. Beautiful.
