I've been to HR a few times, but I can only get there on the weekends. The last couple of times I went, it was so damned crowded and I couldn't even find parking. Haven't been back to shoot in quite a while. Do you shoot at any indoor ranges and, if so, where? Sure is expensive up here. I'm used to 8/hr or so for a lane down in Florida...and, if they weren't busy, they didn't keep track of the time, either.

HR is only open to the public on weekends, the HR association club can shoot there anytime during the week. I've had to wait once or twice for a lane but usually it's not too crowded. I go late in the afternoon so I can pillage the brass buckets. I've been there when it was just me shootin and the RO's from the club too.
I only shot once indoor and that was for my pistol permit class. That was at the Bridgeport Shooting Range.

HR is the only economical range around at $5 for the first hour and $1 for each 15 minutes after that.

Actually, a non-member can shoot there during the week if a member is present. They are supposed to let non-members shoot as a PR thing. Check out the High Rock specific forum. They covered it there. I'm "dtemplar" over there. I'd like to become a member, but they only allow 100 at any given time.

I've bought a few guns from Hoffmans in Newington. They just moved to a brand new facility with a spankin new indoor range, haven't seen it yet.

Yeah, I couldn't do the time, either. Has Hoffman's range opened up yet?
I used to work in Bridgeport and you couldn't pay me enough to go back to that sh!t hole...even to go shooting.
Wolf's isn't too far away from me in Bristol. May have to check it out someday. Link appears to be down right now, but it's worked before...

Hey all,
Yup, got another CT'er here. I'm down in Greenwich, right off exit 3 on I-95.
Haven't been up to Hoffman's yet. Most pistols bought locally at Bob's Guns in Darien and Forest & Field in Norwalk. Every so often, some of my fellow shooters make a trekk up to Hoffman's.
I belong to the Cos Cob Rifle & Revolver Club (CCRRC). We are a private club with a good facility. We have 12 lanes, 50 ft. distance, a "lounging" area with some couches, big flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, and a Laser Shot system (alot of fun when waiting around between stages).
We run IPSC & Steel shoots (with some IDPA mixed in) on Monday nights. That's our 2nd biggest draw (about 20 shooters on average). Tuesday's is high-power rifle (they practice with .22's though), Wednesday's is Bullseye night (largest draw because that's where all our new shooters start out usually), Thursday is .22 pistol competition, and Friday nights is kids night (10yr old's & up...$10 one-time fee and the kids get to shoot and have pizza every Friday night).
The club has about 600 members, with only about 100 or so truly active. Fees are: $450 one-time initiation fee, then $100/yr each year. Dues are increasing in 2009 to $250/yr.
The club is great and downstairs from the Greenwich PD range. There are alot of very helpful shooters there and some who shot competitively around the world. You guys are more than welcome to come on down as my guests and shoot a little and see what the range is like.
Outside CCRRC, haven't really shot at any other ranges. How are the others in the area?

Zipper, I think you need to change your location. You're in SW CT, not SE CT as you list under your avatar. Sorry, but at $250/year, that too rich for me.
