I like to shoot IDPA also. Our first match won't be until next month. Looking forward to trying it with a Glock this year. I just picked up a G17 through the GSSF gun purchase program.

There is a IDPA match this coming weekend. I want to go, but I have never done it before, nor do I really know what happens there. Anyone going to the South Kent Sportsman's Club for the IDPA match in W. Michigan?

Here's some stuff to look at.

The Range is home to The Carolina Cup.

I'm on the timer. The guys shooting on these vids are various LE and ex-military.

You can also follow other links to more vids.

for the link to the videos....I've never shot either one but they have USPSA matches at our range a couple times a year....

I could do what the guys in the video are doing (in slow motion, of course) and I've been wondering what kind of physical condition you need to be in to compete....

I guess I should just go to a match and check things out, but I would just as soon take enough equipment to try it or at least practice...looks like all you need is a pistol, holster, extra mags, ear/eye stuff...is that about it, oh and lots of ammo..

When do you leave the state bb? I would love to make a deal with you on that equipment before you leave town. Next week is going to be bullet crazy.

All you pretty much have to do is be able to draw breath, and have a pulse. :smilielol5:

Seriously....we have a gentleman at our range that is around 70 y/o and has Parkinson's Disease. He does a GREAT job.

I would suggest you show up expecting to shoot with hearing protection, eyes, holster, gun, and at least 3 magazines. Just let someone know you're a first timer, and you'll have all the help you need. :wink5:

I'm going to try to not get "tore up" when the buzzer goes off. I've been doing a little practice (speed wise) at the range.
