View Full Version : Linotype is in and ready to ship

I've gone back and forth about how to do this. I would like to put this on the auction site, but seeing as how I'm never home, doing auctions and shipping is rather hard, so I'm going to divide this up, that is, unless one of you has a 20 or 28 GA O/U shotgun, I would trade the lead towards one (and other stuff/cash as needed).
I should have enough lino to take care of all those who asked. I can deliver to those of you on my delivery route, marked with a *. Every one else I will need shipping information from. I'm looking to ship these week. Payment will have to be in the form of small unmarked bills, circulated twice preferred, precious metals, uncut diamonds, Maker's Mark, firearms, reloading components or machine tools. Checks and MOs also accepted.
I'm going out on a limb here, I'm going to ship before I receive payment since my schedule is tight. The folks here are second to none, I trust the payments will be forth coming.
In regards to pricing, I'm still unsure how to price it. I had the cost of the lead, plus travel (I had to drive a bit to get this stuff, gas ain't cheap for the truck). 'Slick needs a 3% cut because I can't use the TMA site, so he'll get 3% regardless, plus shipping.
What's a fair price for a box of 50 ibs delivered?
These are who I understand are interested:

I would ask $1-$2 a lb , this way you cover your packing material - fuel - labor . I'm at the back of the line , let the others have a turn . I can send a postal M/O for 50 lbs Monday or Tuesday , if the line is short .
PM address / pay to name .

I still want some....Whatever price you put on it...I figure at $1 a pound at least you would make a little something....You're the one doing the hard work.....All we have to do is mail off our payments and sit around waiting for the mailman.......

Im not in a real need for a harder alloy, you can allocate mine to someone else that can get some use out of it.
If I had it I would just end up cutting it with a large quanity of pure lead and that is really a bit of a waste of the good lino.

Unless you are me.
Wait, that would mean smelting wouldn't it? :yikes:

In the interest of Cohutt's safety and to keep Mrs. Cohutt from having me killed, I think I'll send Cohutt's lino to someone else.

I would probably just get a good flame resistant welding jacket, one of those green ones.
That plus some jeans and boots are fine.
They also have flame resistant coveralls, might be a good option, if your wearing shorts.

Dan,
I did PM you, along with a bunch of others, can't explain why you didn't get it. At any rate, I'll find you 50 ibs of lino or so when I'm home next week. PM me for payment details.
