Im so irrated right now! Ive broke 2 decapping pins on my rcbs dies trying to deprime my 5.56 brass. How do i adjust these? It isnt working like they do on the pistol dies. If i do it like the pistol dies the neck is to big to hold the bullet and i cant get the brass deprimed. I move the decapping pin down and it is hard to decap this LC brass and ive broke 2 pins in 20 minutes. I cant get the lee die to deprime the brass at all. This is my first time reloading rifle brass and it is proving harder than i thought it would be.

Make sure they aren't berdan primed first.
Sorry, I just saw the Lake City. Give your Lee a good crank on the collet to make sure its really tight then try and decap them. Some are really hard. You shouldn't be breaking any rods though.

hold on i just looked and not all of these are LC a few are marked I M G 8-89? both pins were broke trying to decap the I M G.So what are these, Ive never heard of it before? I dont rememeber buying anything other than remington and LC ammo so im not sure where they came from. they arent berdan primed either. Does anyone know of a tutorial of how to set up RIFLE dies? ive seen the utube on pistol dies but nothing on rifle dies.

get a case that is already de-primed run your size die down on it, loosen up the spindle and let it center it's self then tighten the nut down. should make things better. LC can be a pain to de-prime though, I figure about one pin a thousand.

How many LC crimped cases are you dealing with?
It is isn't a lot, you might try de-priming with this simple $4 tool from Lee. You can do one crimped case every 15 seconds with ease.

And it won't break.
After de-priming, just tumble then lube and then re-size (trim after sizing if necessary). You'll never have to go thru the ordeal again with that brass.

Obviously you not an ARFCOM'er...
"IMG" has small flash holes, that your de-cap pin (if black color) may not pass through. Go get a 5-pack of the "small" (silver color) and see what happens. After you get them all sized/de-primed, then run a drill bit through the flash holes to make similar size as most other cases.
You will need a .081 drill bit, or a #2 center drill to run the flash holes.

Umm, yes he will, them "IMG" will still have them small flash holes unless he do something about them..
