Which handgun and long arm take the most abuse from you?
Personally, for revolver it would have to my ol' Spnish S&W -10 copy that I shot the living snot out of back in the early 90.'s I shot quite a few +ps through and it shows. That thing now rattles more than a methtweeker's half toothless mouth.
For auto handguns it's gotta be my 1st and 2nd Taurus PT-99 and PT-92 I had during the same period. My brother has that 1st PT-99 now, and still shoots it from time to time. But back in the 90's I could get a 1k of Wolf ammo for around $70-90.00 (depending on what year in the 90's) and I would easily shoot it up in one weekend between shootin' the PT models and my revolver. What made that possible was I got an itchy trigger finger every weekend in the college dorms so I'd jet over (only 60 miles) to my folk's hut outside of Santa Fe and shoot all weekend in their ol' 1800's corral. Didn't have hardly any nieghbors bac then, so's no one would complain.

I'll have to think about which long gun took most abuse. Either my Ol' Risskie SKS, my Bulgarian SLR-90 AK, or my Mini-14. I'm thinkin probably my Bulgarian AK. I remember burning a 1000 rounds of ammo through it in a couple of weekends, and I used to like to Spray n' pray with it.

I don't have many but I'd have to say my G30 and my Ruger 10/22.

Probaly my main 2 carry guns. The Smith 642 in the pocket has some character wear. and in the hot months the G36 gets sweated on while its in the IWB,but it doesn't bother it. That's why I love it. Back when I was carrying my SA 1911 I would religously wipe that baby down because I didn't want rust........for long gun gotta be the 10/22 ,don't think I've even cleaned it. (shame on me) Nothing like putting a 20 or 30 rd mag in and lettin her rip.

I have one G17 that gets used regularly. Before that, it was my 21.

Wish I had kept a round count since I started shooting in 2004. It's been a tad.

G17 and SIG 220 get shot about the same, but the G17 gets fed hot loads, so probably the G17.

I don't shoot many long guns, but I'll grab a Carbine before a Garand or Springfield.

Cleaning a .22? Isn't that what the bullet does when it flies down the barrel?

Probably the .38-Special 4" Ruger Police Service Six I bought used a while back. I treat that thing like it was a Ruger Blackhawk. It had been somewhat neglected so the outside had a little bit of rust on it in a couple places. But the internals were like new. Paid nearly nothing for it.

I shoot really hot heavy cast reloads thru it a LOT (think Elmer Keith). It's hella fun!

I guess for a long gun I don't really know. I'll go with my Mossberg 590 9-shot with GR sights.

My G30s have been very abused and keep going.

When my 10/22 makes it out, we usually shoot it till the mags get too dirty to function. Probably 2-3 thousand rounds in a morning. My XD 40 is one of my carry guns and sees the most range time, not abused though.

How about this for abuse? Would you do this to your AK? All apologies if this is a jambog, I've never seen it before.

I got a beater AK an a Beater G23.

Both been around da block a few times still runnin fine wit zero problems

Left da AK in da back of a buds truck one time when we were in south TX hunting. Didn't rain, but a lot a dew overnight. Next day when we got ready to go for an afternoon setup an call some yotes gun was already rusted ta hell on da outside.

I sand blasted it an spray painted it. Good ta go so I thought.

The pencil barrel of da AK get hotter than blazes when you rip a couple a mags or a drum thru it.

Burn most a da paint off it, next day or two rest of it flakes off

Finally hit it with some header paint thinking dat a hold up for sure. It did too about three trips out.

I just say fugetaboutit and lube it real good on da outside every now an again. It been going strong for 12 years, never a hiccup.

I bought da G23 as a beater, got it for $200 an some AR mags on trade.

It ugly, but it shoot, I use it as a car gun, keep it in da car all da time.

It rough, but always work, kinda like me

My G22 sees the most action around here.

I own several shotguns that have had many more rounds run through them than any handgun I have.

I have a Remington Mod-12A slide-action .22LR that I've nearly worn out. It was pretty old when I got it in the 1950s, but hadn't been shot too much. The lands and grooves are worn away for ~1" ahead of the chamber. I dearly love shooting .22 rifles, and this one has accounted for a lot of small game - and a fair count of not-so-small critters and such.

G23, and AR-15 have seen the most use from me.

About the last two years I have replaced the G23 with a G21 and it gets the most shooting now.

"Most abused" is a little strong, but my Bisley Blackhawk in 357 Magnum sees some pretty intrepid handloads--and asks for more, seeming to say "What else you got, boy?"

The long gun getting the most strenuous usage is my Rem 870 with swap 20" rifle-sighted barrel. I dove-hunt and quail-hunt with 1-1/4 oz. of #9's, chukars get #6's, and pheasants get #4's. Trap and skeet gets same loads, I practice with what I carry afield. When not hunting, the scattergun gets slugs and buckshot run through it pretty hard--although that has slowed a bit since I retired.

I don't abuse guns, generally. They aren't coddled, and they get used here--but most of my loads run at or under 90% of max pressures.

My Glocks get shot a fair amount. My G30 has 7000+ rounds of mostly handloads through it and my G20 is runner up. I keep a round count on all my pistols except for my .22 LR.

As for shotguns, my Citori 20ga has probably had 4000-5000 rounds through it, almost all handloads used for hand tossed clays.

My Dads K-22, which he bought in 1955, is on its third set of hammers and triggers. I learned to shoot handguns with it. Followed by a Ruger Security - Six I received as a high school graduation gift from my folks.
I probably put 30,000+ rounds through it, mostly hot .357 loads. It rattles a bit, but still shoots well.
On rifles was a .22 Remington single-shot, finally washed the bore out between shooting and cleaning.
My Sten MkII has 60-70K through it, almost all lead. Cheap to shoot, and fun to let kids squirt thru a magazine. Their faces light up like the sun!

My duck gun, a mossberg 500, gets the most beaten by far. It is one of the ones that came off of the shelf camo'd up like a teenager with a couple cans of spray paint went after. It has iced shut, choked with gravel, and been beaten on the ground to get it to cycle on a couple of particularly rough days.

I had some parts fall out of it once and called mossberg. New ones showed up two days later free of charge.

This season I managed to flip a canoe and it ended up full of marsh mud. I drained it, checked the barrel, and finished the day with a nice batch of teal.

Brake cleaner works wonders getting crud out of that thing.

I would never own a semi auto for ducks, and no firearm that I have for any other purpose takes even close to the same beating the 500 does.

You must live in a real jungle. What do you use to call the lowlifes in? What is the daily limit?

:cheers2:

ETA: since the tactical wheelbarrow wont work in the marsh I have considered attaching a single wheel to the front of my canoe.

Do you think this will help?

Most abuse huh? Let's see, I suppose the G23 with the ability to shoot 9mm and .22lr gets a lot of use, but everything is taken care and cleaned eventually.

I think I shoot the PT1911 the most at the range. But the Mossberg 500 is also used heavily.

most shot is anschutz prone 22 rifle - over 500,000 rds [set back barrel and still wins matches, owned since 1957 (well dad bought it for me)]

currently - ruger mkII and one of the ar 15s [shot service rifle matches from 1984 with it]

YOU LEFT OUT NFA STUFF - uzi with 22/9mm/10mm/45acp kits
