When I adjust my seating die for 1.125 (loading 40 s&w for my G23), it seems to change and I start seeing somewhere between 1.126-1.131. Is this because of the other stations doing their function i.e. sizing, powder, flare and crimping that the seating die is not fully going all the way down even though I'm throwing the handle all the way? Should I adjust the die for something > 1.125 like 1.121 and then figure by the time I start the rotation it should be right about where I wanted it in the first place? Also, I realize the smaller the OAL, the more pressure one would see in the load. However, is there truly a large difference between OAL's when you're talking +/- 3 thousandths? :toetap05:

Load just one cartridge and run it through station 1 and 2. When it gets to station three, back out the die and put an empty case in station 1. Now adjust for seating depth with the empty case in station one. Then continue loading as normal.
An OAL variance of +/- .003" is nothing to worry about if you're under max and your target OAL is normal.

Yep, that did the trick Freak.......now they all come out at 1.125 +/- .001
The manual doesn't show your method, but it obvisously works better then how they explain it. Thanks again :seeya:

Most everything is at 1.26". The 150gr SWC is 1.25" and the 225gr SWC is at 1.265-1.27". I run Blue Dot, Longshot, and HS6. Haven't settled on a load yet. Just can't put my finger on it.

I would also recommend checking/adjusting your crimp in station 4 while the other stations are occupied.
