I went to BPS yesterday hoping to use some of the gift card money I got for Christmas. I asked the guy at the counter who was busy telling a guy about the need to do a very intense FBI background check, and he said they had powder but are not allowed to sell it since their explosives license expired. Is there any truth to this? If so, how does a major player like this let a license lapse?

A screw up? They'll probably get it renewed.

First time I've heard of an "explosives license" to sell gun powder. If I want to sell gunpowder, I can do it. Just like that. All I'd need is a sales tax license if I sold it to MI residents.

Perhaps if they sold BP? But it wouldn't cover smokeless powder as it isn't an explosive.

I'd rough up the guy behind the counter a bit and get better answers.

Agreed FS I went today in and I asked Bass Pro shop If they had any Power Pistol or Longshot....He said no It cost too much in Hazardous material Fee's I said UMMM Ok? and left The last 2 times I went there for powder they said they was out.....Plus primers there are 39.90 per 1000 :yikes: Williams Gun sight in Burton sells CCI300 primers for 22 bux and Longshot for 17 and some change....:rolleyes5:

Sounds like the best way is to shop at a better place.

The Bass Pro in Ft. Lauderdale stopped stocking powder and primers awhile ago. The new store in Miami doesn't have reloading stuff either. But then again the new Miami store doesn't even have any guns!
