Alright all you crock potters. Bean recipes? .......I kinda vary sometimes on my beans. Sometimes heavy with jalapeno or lots of meat. I like to put sausage into the pot along with some chopped onion, maybe some BBQ sauce and a little beer or whisky for flavoring.

I have my staple bean recipe, but it's on my list to explore the options a little more. Right now I just throw in cumin, chili powder, oregano, Spike seasoning, and pepper, and let it simmer away.
I like your jalapeno idea...might have to try that sometime. I love food with a kick! Do you use fresh or dried?

These are great, although a little sweet for me. I use this recipe when catering BBQ. I always get raves about them.
Brisket Dog BBQ Beans
Serves 70-80
2 No 10 size cans baked beans drained
4 Onions diced
6 Granny Smith apples chopped
1 cup Brown sugar
1.5 cups Golden Raisins
1.5 qts. BBQ sauce
½ lb Bacon slices

For me:
dried pintos
ham bone with some meat left on it
onion cut in to pieces
2 jalapeno peppers,
2 cloves of garlic, diced
salt
freshly ground black pepper
a little cumino and/or chile powder
about a tsp of sugar.
cook on low in the crockpot for what feels about three months (ten hours or more.)
top with a little shredded cheese, serve with green onions and your bread of choice (cornbread is always good)
