No, have you checked out the cast bullets in Glocks thread yet?

First thing that happens is your truck breaks down. Then your girlfriend leaves (if you don't want her to - stays if you do). Your dog runs away, you lose your job, and you get banned from GP. :skep:

Oh - well, I don't do it, but lots of people do. Supposedly, the polygonal rifling causes lead build-up which leads to high pressures, which leads to............

:88:

Or not. Keep your barrel clean and your eyes open and you should be fine.

I ran a lot of lead through a Glock 17 years ago. Use hard cast bullets below 1000fps and you will be fine. If you need a serious social load, you need jacketed hollow points.
I shot lead because I was a CRB. Lead was cheap and less powder was needed for paper punching loads.

i fired tons of lead bullets in glocks with no problems back before the internet was invented and i didn't know better. i still shoot moly coated lead in my g30 and have fired my 3 best scores (all 60.xx) this year with it in GSSF Sub Compact class.

Hardcast and moly are good to go from what I've seen.

i tried moly in 9mm and .40 and they crapped up the barrel really bad after only a mag or two. from what i few have told me that's common of the moly bullets but it doesn't get any worse.

I hear that. I shoot the Precision Bullets through my G19/34 and it gets a little gunky, but it has never caused me any problems. I do clean my barrel after every session/match, which I think is a good idea when shooting any lead in a Glock barrel.

G'day All.

Here in OZ, we mainly shoot coated lead bullets.
I have been shooting lead thru Glocks for over 10 years.

I have a G17, G34 and G35/357Sig

They all run Lead bullets.

The G17 is factory barrel.
The G34 and G35 have Storm Lake Barrels.

My bullet is the Lee 120gr FP. I size them to .356 in the Lee sizer and then tumble lube them.
I them roll them in Talcum powder.

They shoot great out of the G17 and the G34.
9mm Load is 4.5gr W231.

In the G35/357Sig they also shoot great. But travelling at 1475FPS for Major power Factor, does leave a bit of lead in the bore. After 200 rounds the barrel needs cleaning.

357Sig load is 9.5gr W540

In the G17 G34, I only clean the barrel every few months or so.

Hooroo.
Regards, Trevor.

Ehhhh, I'm going Christmas tree slaying in the morning, remember? If you are taking your new 9mm make sure you bring some bandaids along in case you shoot yourself.

Well back from the range. the 4.5 grns of Bullseye was very accurate, very minor "MINOR" leading after 100 rounds. the AA#7 was much dirty er and not quite as accurate. the 4.5 grns of Bullseye was dropping the brass two feet to my right in a nice pile. guess I found a good load.

Leading with the AA 7? You need to bump up the charge on the AA 7 and try again. It needs to be hotter if it's burning dirty.
