To answer your question with a question, what exactly are you looking to do with the press? This question is as open ended as, "What should I buy as my first firearm?" You planning to load for benchrest, IDPA, IPSC, feeding subguns?

Pistol? Rifle? Cannon?

Welcome by the way. Lots of guys are using the Lee turret. They actually kind of have a cult following.

They are the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is in the same league as the Dillon 1050 but at a twentieth of the price.

I've got one and I like it. I use it mainly for .308.

I also have a couple blue presses, but I continue to use the LCT. I doubt there is a better sufficient volume press for the money, but I fart opinions on a regular basis.

I have both, and I can tell you someone has been hitting the crack pipe this evening.

Mainly .223 for general fun and 9mm for fun with the kids

Its great for 223. If you're loading a lot of 9mm, you might want to look at a progressive, but it will work for lower volumes.

I have a LCT and really like it. I like to go slow for my 308 hunting rounds, making sure everything is very consistent from round to round. Also, my press doesnt auto index anymore, so when doing a large run it is more of a pain in the azz than anything. But, I do love the press and highly reccomend it to anyone for low to medium volume loading.

With that said, I am gonna get a 550 pretty soon so I can start loading up 9x19 and large batches of 45acp.

I consider it a great press for a beginner to learn to reload on. After using it for awhile and upgrade to a good progressive will be easier. I now have Dillon Square Deal and an LCT. I'll use the LCT for rifle and the DSQ for pistol. When/if I need a progressive for rifle I'll upgrade to a Dillon 650 with all the trimmings.

The LCT is a great press. I recommend it highly. I have that and a Dillon 550, and the LCT is still a great press, especially for the amount of $$ it costs.

The LCT will produce ammo that is equal or better in quality compared to any other brand. As long as you don't need (or expect) to crank out 400 rounds an hour, then you won't be disappointed with one. Lee really hit a home run with this product and made it affordable at the same time. Take all the cash you'll save from buying a more expensive brand and invest in accessories, dies, components, etc... You'll enjoy the hobby a lot more when you don't have to empty your wallet every time you want to start loading new calibers ;)

I really like mine and wouldn't trade it for anything else (even a Dillon)

I sold my LCT because it was too slow for 9mm and my impatient self. It's a great press. It has some things I don't like but none are really bad, just inconvenient. For instance the powder bar is not adjustable in small increments. I tried the Adjustable charge bar and I didn’t trust it. But, you can still work up a load. Just don’t expect 1/10th a grain adjustments from the discs. The safety prime is a little touchy. It works but takes some getting used to. Of course if it had a real priming system it wouldn’t be a Lee now would it? ;) It‘s a solid smooth little press. Fast caliber changes, consistent powder measure. I even think it looks sharp. It feels a little like a baby 550 (push to prime, smooth stroke). Expect to load 150-200rds a hour of 9mm. Thats 800 pulls of the handle in a hour as well so just expect that. I kind of miss it. Had I not sold it I would probably have kept it set up for 10mm. I don’t shoot much 10mm so having a dedicated press for 10mm would be handy.

Other people I have talked to said the same thing about pistol rounds. They all have progressive loaders set up for pistol and single for rifle.

Why does your LCT not auto index?

Have you lubed the spring loaded ball detente to make sure it is not gummed up? Lubed the turret with a light lithium grease? replaced the little plastic square ratchet? Made sure not to over tighten the plastic collar that holds the square ratchet? Have you removed, or excessively adjusted the hex nut on the index rod?

Any of these could be your problem.

Well, don't get too carried away. It works fine for pistol it's just not as fast. So it depends on your freetime and how often you shoot.

The REAL advantage of the LNL is that if you load 9mm you'll be done REALLY quickly.

Just kidding, guys. I know Hornady is working the bugs out of that scenario and you guys have learned to adapt.

Learned to adapt? Fixed the problem without OEM support, until they saw another money making option is more like it. Reminds me of work, but I digress...

Cheep Reloading Bastard = LCT for the win

I highly recommend the LCT, if you enjoy reloading. I consider it quality time so no need for a progressive.
I wish there was a conversion kit to make it an auto indexing two hole turret though. I prime off press in advance so I usually just manually index it back and forth.

I like my LCT, reasonably quick for .45ACP (I can do 100-150/hr without feeling rushed at all). Haven't used it for any other calibers so far but getting set up for 4 calibers was cheap and easy. I will be using ot for .223 since it's relatively high volume but will be using an RCBS for lower volume hunting calibers. I guess my only complaint so far is the auto prime is finicky.

I've been loading on a classic turret for two years and it has been a great press for me. I load 9mm, 38/357, 45 auto and 223. Check out this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOpN9iYOyE8 for loading 223. The classic is a very solid press and has been trouble free.

That was a Good video .
Most you see on Youtube are reloading like F***ing idiots .
Trying to go as fast as possible .

One thing I hate about Youtube is every time I go
there I am there for another half hour watching other videos .:)

Oh and I got a LCT and like it a lot .

Have had one for about 8 months now and while it doesn't put out near the volume of my buddies Dillon, I like it a lot, it's easy to use, solidly built, reliable, and affordable.

....Now if I could just afford to keep components in stock to "feed" it....

I have said before the LCT is like a little 550. It primes the same (push forward), it feels like a mini 550 when you pull the handle as well. Dillon turned a 450 into the 550. I wonder if Lee could do the same and make a semi progressive version of the LCT. It's a better platform for the transformation in some ways then the other Lee products.
