View Full Version : New Gun Won't Shoot Straight
built a 9mm glock on a g17c frame and caspian slide adam neat lightened for me. kkm barrel and novak comp. was going to shoot it at ft. benning in a week but when i tried to sight in the c more the rounds were all over the place. if i get a chance next weekend i'll try the ammo in my g17 and see if it shoots any better. guess i'll use my g22 USPSA open gun at ft. benning until i get the 9mm worked out.
edit: i should of added the ammo worked great in a 9mm AR when i sighted in the eo tech yesterday, but i don't think it's safe to say the ammo isn't any good, yet.

Sounds like you might getting some contact in the comp baffles.
my first thought was the winchester bullets that i've never used before, then too much crimp, then i got to wondering about the comp. i'll look into it but at this point i'm not going to trust it in a match.

My LWD barrel doesn't get along with my Caspian slide - I think I'm getting inconsistent lockup. I run the LWD barrel in the stock slide for this reason.
Stock barrel in Caspian slide works like a charm, but when I combine the two aftermarket parts I have problems.
Argh!
thanks steve that's good to know and something i never heard before.

So, here's another comp-related mystery. All of my barrels with screw-on comps shooter higher with the comps than without. I have never been able to detect any contact with the baffles, and the barrels group fine...just higher than without the comps.

No Steve, he needs to use Babel fish oil to lube the slide.
