Iask because I want to do it, but am short on time today.
(Also, I will not be intoxicated during the event, so no time loss there)

Less than a half hour, being generous. It didn't take long at all. Follow the manual. If you get stuck, call me and if I'm home I can look at mine and walk you through it.

sweet! If it isn't any more difficult than building a 351W into a 408, I should be ok...

Having never run a 550 before it took me much longer then 30mins. But I like to go slow, look at every part, figure out why it's there and how it relates to the rest of the machine. Speed is not a issue for me when I am starting off with a new press.

I took it slow and it took me about 90 minutes from opening the box to the first round of 9mm. Everything just....works.
It's been so long since I set mine up I forget how long it took the first time.. I did set up one for a friend I met on another board at his house in about a half hour.. He bought the beer!

I'm sorry, but if you have to worry about how long it takes then you need to set aside ample time some other day (holiday, vacation, whatever) and not have to rush trying to beat the clock. I personally watched the presentation on U-Tube several times before my 550b arrived so I pretty much knew how to adjust each station. It still took me a better part of an hour because like earlier posted, I wanted to make sure I knew what each of the four station did and and how they interacted with each other to produce proper ammo :sifone:.

Yeah, I decided to put off putting the 550B together, as I have been crushed with finals. But they end today, and tomorrow is my day to get it set up...:)

Now you're thinking correctly. Take your time and enjoy the process, I did!

I had to put the PM assembly, priming assembly, and handle on then the cartridge chute and bin.

They usually come from the factory in a box and not attached to a bench already.

The YouTube videos are worth their weight in gold. Take the time to watch and understand them before you set your 550 up and you'll be surprised how quickly that baby goes together.

JJB...go to da Dillon site and download the manual for free.
Yup....FREE.
It helped me out a great deal.
Of course, my 550 came back from them in virtually one piece. At least they got esploded drawins in the manual.

From open da box ta be ready ta add components less than 5 minutes with strong mount an roller handle.
BTDT - twice.
Jawja, most 550's come partially assembled, all ya gotta do is add da handle, add da toolhead an dies, PM an rod, an caliber conversion kit an roll.

Someone just wanted to see JJB sweat when he was assembling it.
Took me longer to setup my LCT than 30 min (including cutting a piece of wood, drilling holes, mounting, then the rest) but then again mine was screwed up too. Frustrating.
Maybe I should have just said screw it & got a yucky ole blue dillon.
Although it would have cost me twice as much.
