Where have they all gone?
I've tried Powder Valley, Grafs, and Wideners, to no avail.
Anyone here know of an online source, with a decent price for 10,000 of them?

Not much help here. Was at Cabelas a couple weeks ago and talking to the guys behind the counter. Primers are dribbling in to their stores under 2000 at a time.
Sportsmans Warehouse same or worse, Frontiersman (a local joint) same, same, same.
I don't buy in your league so no data points on line sources.

I'm not big league, I just want to hoard. Seriously though, they should last me a few years.

Nuttin wrong with that except you're skewing the ol supply and demand curve.............
:)
10k at a time isn't skewing anything. That's not even hoarding. Hoarding is more like 100k primers.

It's not hoarding, it's called making sure you have primers while every other schmuck in town is TRYING to buy them for $50.00 a thousand and not having any luck.

I'm finding all brands of primers to be in short supply locally. Especially at the gun show in Savannah yesterday. Georgia Arms only brought about 20 boxes total and most of them were Winchester. I was sure to get there real early, first 10 or so in line and once in the building went right to Georgia Arms for primers. Bought up 5k of the small pistol, 3k of large, no WSR to be found but they had 2 or 3 boxes of CCI SR and a few shotgun primers. Selling them for $30.00 a box. I didn't see any other primers at the show but another guy said one other vendor had just a couple of boxes and was selling for $40.00+ a box.

Sorry Larsson, judging by your last name you is the wrong color to qualify for a mule or 40 acres. If you first name be Tyrone or Chantel you might be half way there.

It seems like there was a primer shortage about 15 years ago (at the start of which president's administration?). According to CCI and others in the industry, there was a big run on ammo due to fear of bans and other restrictions. Most of the Primer companies are also in the ammo making business, and they could not turn out the ammo or primers fast enough. Since they made bigger profit margins on loaded ammo than they did on selling primers to handloaders, guess where most of the primers were going?

I knew a primer production line supervisor at CCI during the last problem. I asked him when the shortage might be over, his response was "what shortage?". At the same time a friend was a warehouse supervisor at a wholesale sporting goods company, he showed me pallet after pallet of primers while his bosses were limiting sales to people who purchased powder and bullets.

I went into Sportsman's Whorehouse yesterday just looking... NO POWDER AT ALL! Not even a pound of international clays in the back room. Nuts I tell ya.
They had some 25 ACP bullets, and some damned cowboy bullets at about $85/500. They also had a couple 100 packs of Federal Match primers for $3.60 per hundred.
Makes me sick.

having a hard time finding sp primers up in the northwest as well. Gun show this weekend was sold out noonish saturday. Haven't seen any at any of the sporting goods stores lately either. No price gouging tho. Still about 25-28 per 1K.

I agree, how many can ya shoot off at one time ? It ain't like they not gonna make more.
Some people just make it hard on all of us by buyin up all da stocks.
Mfr's think they is no end in sight so they jack up prices.
Little man reloading almost cain't make it nowdays
I seen one guy at da last show I went to dat bought 15k primers.
Damn, what da hell he gonna do with all them ? Start some kinda uprisin ? Too late, barama already won.
Maybe one days all da hoarders a run outta bucks or space, an da left overs can go to us small volume reloaders for somethin short of $1 each.

+1, people that buy large quantites of primers make it difficult for those of us who can only afford 1-2 thousand at a time, selfish, very selfish.

Just checked PowderValley = they're out of Win, Fed, and CCI 500 primers... Grafs is out of the CCI too.
I'm down to my last 300 CCI SP and about 1/2 pound of HS-6 in the hopper... haven't been able to find either one of those in local stores for the past week or two. Scary.
Hoping a vendor at the gunshow this weekend will have something for sale.
