Yes, I know it's trouble in .45 ACP (not sure about GAP), but how does AMERC brass work in the lowly 9x19?
I got a fair amount of it from ept000 as Festivus present packing material. Should I load it up for my brother in law or recycle it?
Thanks,
Koski

I pitch on reputation alone - have lots of 9x19 so who's going to miss a few?

Stock up on decapping pins from what I've heard.

Yep. I'm gonna load 'em.
If they give me grief, maybe I'll pitch 'em in the future.

You blow one of your kids up with that brass, the wife won't let hear the end of it.

Maybe Steve can do what JimRuger didn't - A family pic where Steve is shooting and everyone is cupping and turning.
i load anything or everything as long as it takes a primer powder, and bullet, but i never pick up spent brass from a match so for me it's a one time deal.

So where does your brass come from ede?
most of it i get from GSSF matches i work and i'd bet near 75% of the GSSF shooters use factory ammo. i usually get 25 gallons or so of brass a year. i also buy or trade for brass if i find what i feel is a good to great deal. only brass i pick up is what i shoot at home so most i only load once. i hate to pick up brass at a match, i find it distracting.

I'm a little surprised that this part of your post went right by without any cracks. Any jerk can use styrofoam peanuts, but it takes a total moron to use brass as packing! :animlol:

How in the hell did someone manage to fire a whole box of 9mm in a 40?
I may just keep all of the bad brass to use as packing material next year. Great idea!

The swelled up 9mm were fired in a 357 Sig. And no, not by me. Same guy that shot un-lubed lead in his Bowning until it leaded up the barrel enough to crack it! It's Darwins way.....

Aha! Did they 9's cycle the 357 Sig? I'd almost think so by the number of them that were fired. If they didn't cycle you think he'd have stopped and looked.
Next year, send someone the cracked barrel.

Oh yeah, I'm told it cycled just fine. I tried to get the barrel, but I think he was too embarrased to give it to me. He had been shooting reloads made by a scum bag that had to dump all his guns and stuff due to a felony arrest. I pulled one of the reloads apart and found out the bullets had no lube in the groove. I told him not to shoot any of them because they had no lube, and he said he understood and wouldn't shoot any of them. That was on a Friday afternoon and on Monday morning he told me his gun was broke. I guess it's Darwins way.....

I steer clear of AMERC brass. I didn't know what everyone was so upset about. I used to use it and it loaded fine. Next thing I notice I'm having all kinds of OAL problems with my 40 loads. I check the headstamp and sure enough, every round that had a problem was AMERC brass. Now I toss that mess everytime I see it.
