I have a question about Kydex holsters.
I just bought some mags for my g19 and the guy threw in an older Kydex g19 holster.
The belt slot on the holster is 1.25 and the belt I use is 1.75, can I use a Dremel tool at low rpm and extend the belt slots to fit my belt and then sand the edges smooth?
Thanks for any information on this:supergrin:
Bogey, I know, just buy a new belt:dita:
Mods, move this if it is not in the correct forum, thanks

I don't see why not. Go for it.

I just hope I can use the Dremel tool better than I shoot:yesnod:

I just opened up my 1.5 inch to a 1.75 inch. Use a drill to get the hole endpoint just the way you want it, then dremmel or drill to make the ends meet. A razor knife will also cut pretty well.

Or heat it up a bit with a heat gun, then slide it over the belt.

What brand is it? Ones I've seen, like SideArmor have different parts for different size belts.

It is a very old Sidearmor with the belt slot built in to the holster. I already checked with them and they can't help other than "use low rpm so as not to melt anything".

I have an older Sidearmor IWB holster with the belt loops starting to crack. I'm thinking about using a piece of some saddle leather in place of the loops. Basically I'll use some washers and attach it with the screws that hold the belt loops now. If I glued some velcro to the leather it would work with my LFI rig belt.
Advantages are:
Take the holster off and put it on without removing the belt.
Holster would not slide back an forth on the belt if I position it between belt loops.
Keeps the speed of Kydex.
When I get around to this project I'll start a thread and take pics.
