I hear there's a Gun Show in Houston this weekend. What's your take on market there?

A friend attended a show in Seattle today, he said ammo sales were decent, EBRs were not selling.

Houston is kinda funky.

Lotta guns, two different markets, unusual dynamics.

Lotta money in Houston, as in a hell of a lotta money.

Also, lotta people in Houston, as in too many ta count with a Chinese abacus

Folks what got money a buy from time ta time, but most of da market in Houston is made up of folks what work in da petrochem business. Some of em got a lotta money from time ta time, but some of em also got zero money when layoffs, strike or furlough comes, which, happens fairly often.

As a result, either you sometimes can sell just about anything, for almost any reasonable price, other times ya cain't give it away. Every once in a while, you can score some hell of a deals on da cheap when folks is liquidatin some toys ta pay da rent.

I done both there over the years.

I wouldn't live there no matter what

But, dats jus me.

Slick, I've heard crime is simply insane in Houston. Fact or BS?

Houston is a nutty place. My godsister worked at a bank as a teller. Someone came to rob the place and shot her in the head. For Real. Praise God she survived but talk about traumatized.

Lotta gangstas in Houston.

Houston got some gangstas, like Creophus says, but they everywhere. Most of da crime in Houston is property crimes. Auto break ins, burglary, thefts etc..

But, that doesn't mean it's safe or unsafe. It's like anywhere else there are a lotta criminals. Depends if you are affected by it or not, determines your assessment of it.

I wouldn't live there. But, mainly because of da traffic, da stench from da petrochem plants, da place is nasty as a whole.

Some of da suburbs is real nice, but also real high cost of livin/housing.

I could live 40-50 miles from Houston a be real happy wit dat. Lotta nice folks, lotta fantastic food, lotta great weather down in dat part a Tejas.

Inside da loop, in Houston proper, no way in hell.

That highway system is nuts. Looks like a bowl of spaghetti with roads all on top of each other.

They been workin on Loop 610 for 30 years. It ain't ever gonna be passable with two lanes closed all da time.

20 mile commute take hour an a half down there. Hour plus ta get outta Houston, few minutes ta get home from there

Yep, miss your exit and you're screwed. I've seen rollercoaster track that didn't look as twisted as that highway.

Every time I ate Vietnamese food I felt like I needed to floss after every bite. I had some "hearty" mint soup once in one & I tasted mint for two days afterward. Never again.:ack2:

It ain't too hot, they have some stuff in a lot of em they do up as a local or individual specialty. Looks pretty much the same, but man it a rip ya good, make ya sweat in a hurry.

Gotta ask for it though, they don't usually serve it to Americans as it is too hot for some folks

I go through so much Sriracha sauce it ain't funny. We got the best Vietnamese restaurant here that I've ever heard of, always lined up out the door with local asian folk. Bout once a week me and a bud from work hit it up and I get the soup with beef balls, tendon, tripe, rare steak, and well done flank. It so good you don't know how ya gonna make it to the next day without eatin it again. Load it up with enough Sriracha to make your whole body sweat, some soy sauce, smoked hot pepper sauce and hoisin sauce and you're ready to chow! I keep a bottle of Sriracha at home and another big ole bottle at work just for flavoring up whatever leftover junk I bring there from home.
