One other thing I like about this crew is......the stories. I'm a sucker for gun stories too, the history of the model, the specific gun, the horror, the comfort, the abuse.
My first was a taurus PT-99 I got way back in like 1994 possibly? It was right when they just added the decocker to the frame mounted safety. I started shootin' alot with a college buddy of mine and he had his Sig 288 9mm and man! I wanted an auto instead of my old' model 10 " copy Spanish clanker." So's I saved up some cash, was readin' all I could about different "wonder nines" (it was a 90's thing bigtime) and lookin' around at Ron Peterson's gun shack in Albuquerque every chance I got. One day they had a Beretta and a Taurus side by side. I'd read alot about the Taurus actually, the one article that stuck out was Wilely Clapp's article about the very new "decocker" on the frame and such. I liked the way he wrote about it, bein' a bit more gulible at the time, but heck, that's how ya' learn 'enit?
Anyway, the gunshop dude tries baitin' me on the Beretta, which I did like, but didn't like the safety on the slide. I decided to go with the Taurus and am glad I did! It had an adjustable rear site, frame safety (no de-cocker) and the store had a tube full of 15 and 30 round mags. The price was in my pre CRB practicing FBI range too (Flat Broke Indin).
I shoot the bejeezus' outta that gun! Back in 1994-ish, 9mm was cheaper than a first date with me! Man I used to abuse the hell outta' that gun. Shootin 3-30 round mags as fast as I could , that pistol was a true smokin' wagon 20th century style. Anyway, not much of a story, and my next client is here anyway. But my older brother still has that PT-99 in Northern AZ, he still shoots it, and last time I was there I checked the barrel out and it still looked pretty damn good.
What's yours' eh? Ummm? Huuuh?:shocked::sifone:

Glock 30. Still have it.
Oh, story. Well, WI was getting closer to getting concealed carry passed and I thought it was a better idea and more practical to carry a small 45 rather than a 6" .357 Magnum, so I sold my GP100 (first handgun) to buy my G30 (second handgun). That was almost 5 years ago.

Ruger 22/45 got it in about '93, I've ran about 2000 rounds a year through it since.

Ruger MK I pistol.
I just looked at the receipt, May 04, 1977
I couldn't begin to guess the number of rounds through that pistol.
I gave it to my son several years ago when I replaced it with a MK II.

A 1911 I built. I used a Safari fringer groove frame back when little did I know they had issues with pin locations. The first shot was fired by a friend of mine who had already lost his right arm to a Norwegian 20mm experiment at China Lake around 20 years ago now or so.
The pistol shot and functioned fine but always had some issues due to the pins. 10 years ago a friend needed a 1911 to work on for a class which was being put on by Safari. I got a new frame out of the deal. One of these days I'm going to make it into a long slide.

My first was a Boston PD trade in G19. A friend of mine owned a gun store and I told him I was looking at a Sigma. Well apparently he didn't think too highly of the Sigma and offered me the Glock he had taken on trade. I have put tens of thousands of rounds through that gun, a few years ago I sent it to Glock for a safety inspection and they changed every part except the barrel and the slide (they even replaced the frame) for free. It's now my wifes carry gun and I steal it out of her purse every once in a while to shoot. I would have a hard time thinking of a single bad thing to say about that gun, and I hope my daughter enjoys it long after I'm dead.
One cool thing is the slide has BOSTON PD engraved in it.

June of 1988, walked into the Buffalo Gun Center, and bought a COLTŪ 1911, 5" blue in 9mm. Still have it, though it sports a Wilson comped 38 Super barrel in the COLT slide that been swiss cheesed, and a 5" NOWLIN barrel in a SV slide I think.
Other 1911 is a SV hi-cap frame, Caspian slide, NOWLIN 38 Super barrel w/comp, and C-More.

Hi-Standard HD-Military .22LR My Grandad gave it to ME many years ago, but my Dad just recently let me have it. :) He's 91 and doesn't shoot too much anymore.
Everybody needs a .22 auto pistol.

a glock 23 i purchased on June 6, 2001. I had went into the local gun shop anf told them i would be 21 in a few months and that i wanted to see some guns,They asked what i wanted? I asked what the local leo carried? they said glock 22,they showed it to me. I said it seems a little big got anything else? they showed me a 23. I said thanks and went home to research gun and 40S&W. 2 days later i came back and put it on layaway and was told it would not be released to me before my birthday. So when my birthday rolled around i had paid off everything but $1.00.I still have that gun and wont get rid of it.

Surprised anyone besides me knows of the Buffalo Gun Center, haven't been there in forever. Guy I went to high school uncle is the manager.

A really, really grungy 1911 I bought in 1975, from the Dad of a high school friend. Heavily pited, but quite functional. Sold several years later to buy a prettier one.

My first car was a '75 Datsun PU, but it was not long after that when I was drawn far far away to the Ford...galaxy...'72 that is... talk about interior space, or what 'Slick like to call "head" room. Of course, at the time I was so young and dumb that the ride and a fist full of 50s would not have made it better, but even so, those were good times.

Star Model Super B 9 m/m, I was 17 years old, maybe 16. In those days, you could go into a gun shop and buy ammo BY THE ROUND! I cannot remember how much but I'd skip lunch at school to buy ammo. Oh, and I think the Star was $15, it was 1958. A rich buddy was also a gun collector and he had a MP-38 or 40, yeah a FA! We'd split a whole box of ammo, once a month, two seconds of fun, then broke for another month.. wait, that sounds like my love-life a few years later! Truely though, we were grade school kids (in a Catholic school) with FA weapons!

My first auto was 1964 Rambler. It had three on the tree, manual stering and brakes, Got it army surplus for $99. It was olive drab green and had a star on the trunk. (I couldn't resist);)
My first semi-auto pistol was a Ruger Mark II Target Pistol, bought it in the early eighties.

My first was Smith and Wesson Sigma in 40. I still have it although I don't carry it anymore.
I love everything on the gun, better than on my Glock 23...EXCEPT the trigger is horrible!!!
That trigger is the reason I got a Glock in the first place!! I won't sell the gun though, even though I've had people try to buy it off me.

Ruger Mark II. Bought it off a friend in high school. This was back in Georgia. Had to leave it behind when I moved out to CA. I left it with another good friend for him to enjoy.
Loved that pistol. Will pick up another some day.
G23. I've had it for ages it seems. I bought it way back in January... or was it February of '08. :D

Ruger P89TH. The special edition with the Ruger hogue grips. I love that gun. Within the first year I think it had about 8-9,000 rounds through it. Almost all Wolf and Silver Bear ammo. I don't think it has ever had a malfunction except when I learned my lesson on cheap aftermarket hi-cap mags. Only Ruger mags for it now. It even makes it into the carry rotation every now and then.

First was a Remington Viper .22, when I was 10 or so (1995-ish), since stolen from my dad's house. First auto handgun was a 2nd-generation Glock 17, Lexington SWAT-team trade in. It had old but functional Trijicons, and was a damn good gun. 2 17-rounders, and one 10-rounder. $398 for the gun, $15-20 for the extra 17-rounder, and $30 for a galco kydex holster. REALLY kicked myself for selling that gun, and have a 3rd-generation one now.

Mauser HSc in 380 ACP, mid-1976. It ate up hardball, wouldn't run HPs to save its life. Cool-looking little pocket pistol, though.
The next autopistol (1979) was a Colt Series 70 Government Model in 45 ACP. THAT one I wish I had back.

Good ol' Glock 17. It was a police trade-in back when they were swappin' 'em out for the fo'ty. Came with the LEO high cap mags, which was a bonus during the Clinton Oppression. Still a fav. It's the one that new shooters like when I'm introducing someone to the sport. Might be cuz I've sweetened the trigger with a 3.5 lb connector and and overtravel block, and of course the 9mm is a friendly round to shoot.

My story is the same as yours. I got a PT92 in the very early 90's before I ever heard of Taurus doing a decocker (actualy didn't know they ever did one). I loved that gun. It was flawless in performance. Never a hiccup unless it was a bad reload from the gun show. I was not a good shot but I had fun trying. Took it down to have it teflon coated. Man it was pretty like that as well. Did something stupid with it once. If you remember correctly the Beretta had a little bump behind the trigger to limit over travel. I made the same thing out of some brake anti squell backing material. Well, it did allow the trigger to reset so it would randomly fire 2-3 rounds at a time. Scared the crap out of me. As much as you hear about Taurus and it's quality that was a damn fine gun.

I LOVE my Model 60. I have 2 Marlin/Glenfield rifles. I fact, I think that actually was the first firearm I bought...$60 at a pawn shop about 2 years ago. That bugger started it all. A S&W Model 59 back in 1979 or 1980.
Traded it in toward something else (a 1911 I believe) around 1982.
The M59 was OK but unremarkable in every way other than it was the first hi-cap 9mm to come along after the 1935 BHP.
