Has anyone here had any dealings with Precision Delta, and their jacketed bullets? Their prices looked pretty good, so I ordered 1000 9mm 124grn FMJ, and 1000 .40 165grn FMJ-FP a week ago, no bullets on my doorstep, as of today.

They are about 6-8 weeks out on 9mm. I ordered some a few weeks ago and got an E-mail confirmation a couple days ago that they are running that far out and will charge me and ship when the 9mm batch is done.

Many people use them, I dont know if this board will have much info on them yet, but GTR had some decent threads with a bunch of info if you want to search.

Both PowderValley and PrecisionDelta are great companies to deal with. When you order from PrecisionDelta its a good idea to call and see if they have it in stock, or when the next manufacturing run is.

Helms,
Doublecheck your e-mail confirmation. Your order sounds like Precision Bullets and not Precision Delta. These are two different companies.

Precision Delta doesn't have everthing in stock 100% of the time, but I don't think they get nearly two months behind on orders.

I just called Precision Delta today and they said my order just shipped. I placed the order last week.

You are right, shovel. Sorry, my mistake. My E-mail was from Precision bullets, and THEY are 6-8 weeks out. Sounds like I need to order some from precision delta in the mean time :wink5:

Is it worth it to order???

Buying local for powder and primers is much cheaper for me here in VA. Ordering and having them shipped I have to pay the Hazardous Material fees plus the regular shipping. Locally I pay $26.99 per 1000 for CCI500 small pistol primers and $17.99/1 lb Winchester WSF and $19.99/1 lb for Accurate #7. I don't think that's too bad for price and also stimulating my local economy.

I just received the .40 165gr FMJ's today. According to the email from them the 9MM's should ship in a couple of weeks.
Long wait, but the .40's look good.

I ordered 5 days ago. I called and ordered 124s 9mm because they said they had them in stock. Precision Delta of course not the other. I am in line for a bunch of 147's from the other group.

You say you ordered from Precision Bullets as well? Do you use lead load data since they are lead bulllets (despite the coating).

My Precision Bullets order was a couple weeks ago. I have Lead Data for them of course.

Yes Monday Morning.
They told me in an email on 3/26 that they would start producing 9MM 124gr FMJ the following week, and that they were back ordered so much, mine would ship hopefully within three weeks of that time.

I don't know about that, at $72.00 per K, I can wait.
In fact, I'm thinking about ordering a couple more thousand.

I agree!!!!
Precision Delta FMJ's are awesome quality and consistancy. If it doesn't matter what bullet weight and just want something for plinking, call them and ask what they have in stock. If you must have a specific bullet weight, and they don't have them in stock, they are worth the wait. I don't think they ever get backordered 6-8 weeks like their competitors.

You just need to order enough to cover HM fees. Powder & primers here locally are full retail; $30/1K primers & almost the same for 1# of powder( larger jugs often not available). Order 10 units (powder &/or primers), they ship it to my door (I have to drive 40miles rt for supplies), I pay no tax (8% here, about what SHI costs) & it cost me alot less even w/ the $2/unit HM. I'ld love to support my local econ, but not when they screw me for guns, ammo & components.:incazzato:
