I recieved my 550b today courtsey of freakshow. I got the machine mounted and set up fairly quickly(too smooth, something had to go wrong) I start loading 9mm and was going smooth(produces very nice rounds). I noticed a few primers were fliping over in the primer cup. Then I realized the thing came shipped with large primer set up. No problem right? I'll just switch it over to the small primer setup and get rollin. Heres where it went bad, 3 hours and it still is'nt working. I cannot get the primer bar to get a primer to drop into the cup. The primer feed stop pin will not go back far enough. It just hangs up and won't let a primer drop in. I've broken this thing down probably 10 times with no luck. Is there another pin that i'm supposed to be using?

If someone has a pic of what this is supposed to look like that would be a great help. I'm using the small primer magazine with the blue small primer magazine orifice.

I didn't realize the whole color coding untill after I started pulling the ends off (should have read the complete instruction manual, not just skim thru).
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The height of the cup on the primer slide has a tolerance to it. If it sticks up too high, it won't grab a primer.

There is an allen screw on the side. Loosen it up. Then push the primer cup down as far down as it will go and then tighten the screw. This should be good. The measurement it is supposed to be is in the manual.

My large primer slide was like that and that's what I had to do.

Tried that and it didn't work. The frekkin bar won't go back far enough. Here is a pic of what it looks like. Looking at the pic it looks like the metal is cracked, dont think that should be causing my problem.

You might have to bend the bar back a bit. The one that rides on the rollers.

Manually pull the slide back and bend the end of the rod a LITTLE at a time until it picks up a primer.

Loosen the screws to the primer housing tube and just snug em up slightly.

Sounds like you have the two screws that tighten from underneath too tight causing the bar to bind at the end of it's rearward travel.

The screws don't have to be tight, just snug.

Try that (right now) and see how it does

tried to loosen the screws and I still can't manually get the bar to go back far enough. I have everything disconnected and have the bar sliding back and forth jus does not want to go back enough. The only way to get it back is to take that white pin completly out. Should I shave that biach down?

Nope. On the back of the slide there should be an allen screw. I think this adjusts for distance. Try that. Keep backing it out until it catches a primer.

I backed that allen screw all the way out and it hangs up on the knob of that what pin. seems like 1mm and primers will start dropping.

I guess I'll call tomorrow, that thing kicked my ass. It seems impossible for that bar to go back any further with that pin in the way.

If someone could post a pic of the priming area like the one I posted would be helpful(with the way it should look). Thanks for your guys help.

P.S> My LnL is frekkin laughing at me, that little bastid

UPDATE, the damm thing is fixed. I figured it would'nt hurt to shave that white plastic pin down since this is where the bar was getting hung up. Worse come to worse, I call Dillon and they send me a new one. Anyway, shaved like 1mm off and the thing feeds like butta.

What I am wondering is was it an oversized pin? what did I do wrong? This had to be some type of operator malfunction cause this is'nt a wide spread problem. I don't see how I could have done it any different. Hummm I guess I'll never know. Thanks to all.

When you swapped from large to small primer, did you exchange the primer slides, ro did you cheat and just swap out the cup and punch? The height of the cup & punch in the slide is critical. refer to the drawing in the lower left hand corner on page 5 to measure the height.
Please don't hesitiate to call us for assistance, if possible while you are in front of the machine.:blues:

I did'nt know you could just swap the cup. I changed the large prmer slide for the small primer slide. I tried all the adjustment I could with the allen screw on the slide with no luck. Shaving the white pin down a hair seemed to be my only option. After doing so it feed 50 primers with no problem. When I mess with it today I'll see how it goes.

I probably should have called in the first place, but that thing got better of 5 hours on me:banghead:. It turned in a mission that had to get done. We'll see maybe I messed it up even more. I've got the number just in case. Thanks for your help.
