How do these scopes perform?? I'm looking for an inexpensive scope for a .243 that will be kept in a mountain cabin and used for the occasional shots at ground hogs...ranges from 200 - 400 yds...

the prices of these scopes are great but I don't want to waste my money if they wont last or be clear enough for what I need...any experiences with Barska scopes you can share will be appreciated..

My personal experience is that the clarity of their optics varies greatly from one scope to another. I suggesst you check out the one you plan to purchase personally, and not to order one at random from a catalog.

The ones I've looked at may have been worth the price (low), but weren't up to the task, IMO.

I've done some more searching on other sites and the concensus is: put another $100 in the pot and get a better scopes...

I appreciate your input..more looking to do...

A friend uses them on a .25-06 and a .30-06 for deer. They are the lighted reticle type.
So far no trouble, but these rifles only see 5-10 shots a year. I agree that you might want to keep looking.

So far, no problems on my .17 RFM.
6-18 w/AO. Seems at least as good as the BSA scopes I've seen, with clearer optics.
Mogollon just might be on to something here, I've not had a chance to look at other Barskas.

I've got a spotting scope that is worth what I paid for it. Its not great, but its not bad.
