I just got started at the end of last years season.

I'm just chomping at the bit to get started back up this year.

I just wish I started sooner!!:banghead:

Of the 2 matches I've been to, 1 was a lost brass match.:incazzato:

That just doesn't sit so well with me.

Shoot 9mm, lost brass match or not, don't have to worry about it.

I'm shooting .45 ACP (in a G21SF) at "lost brass" matches. While my brass collection shrinks at such matches, it grows in other situations, thanks to friendly non-reloaders who leave a pile of once-fired WWB behind! :)

for me there's nothing any more distracting than picking up brass at a match. i leave every piece i shoot on the ground. then again i work enough matches a year i end up with around 20 gallons of range brass.

I'm hooked on IDPA, great way to hone your CCW skills, and fun as hell!

As a Safety Officer, I will not allow any shooters in my squad to bend over so much as once until AFTER the match is over.

It may sound like I'm a prick, but dammit.....safety comes first, and someone on their knees or bent over at the firing line is tough to detect, even when I do my "doubletake" look around.

The only matches I go to that are lost brass events are major sanctioned matches. So, like Gary says, I make up for it the rest of the year. :yesnod:

I shot in an IDPA match last year and they made everybody stop after every shooter and pick up brass, everybody except the next shooter. He gets to relax and get ready to go. On the up side I came in forth in my first competition.

Out of curiosity, where was this IDPA match held?

Jake,

Just make sure to collect 2x as much brass at the other matches. It all evens out.

That is a bit north of where I am. I recently started shooting IDPA at Richmond in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, IDPA matches are only held every OTHER month at Richmond -- and the May match is cancelled because it falls on Mother's Day! :(

On the other hand, a sanctioned regional match will be held at Richmond in July. :coolgleamA:

I only get to shoot 1 match a month, so loosing 100 or so casings doesn't hurt as bad.
