I was following the Wolf Primer thread and a comment about APS strips got me to thinking about posting about some I have.

I was at Tulsa a few years ago and found a box of primers on a table for a ridiculous low price, so, I snatched em up right now.

I got home and realized I bought primers on the CCI APS strips. No biggie, they still go bang.

But, what's the best way to liberate the primers from the little strips so I can load em in my 550 ? Would of course like to avoid popping one (or more).

Any suggestions ?

RCBS makes a tool to load primers into the strips, it may unload them too. Something like $30 or so, if you only have a thousand or so, you might just use a tooth pick or similar.

I thought about using a toothpick, or the end of an ink pen cap etc.. I'm just hoping there is a quick and easy way I am unaware of. I've got enough old primer trays and sleeves that I can store em properly.

Sounds like a good rationalization to buy another press. After all, you have the primer strips, now you just need a press that uses them!

Slick, Send them to me and I will get them out and send you the strips back. I always use my RCBS Pro 2000 or a bic pen. The loading devise will not take them out.

Slick, I thought we went over this a couple years ago?

I have an APS hand tool that I can pop them out in shot order, but shipping primers isn't a viable solution. Is it worth shipping you the hand tool? How many do you have?
If it's like a thousand or what not, just push them out with a punch onto a tray.
There not held in with glue or any thing.

Trade them with someone with a APS system.
