The range I belong to us having it's first monthly full auto day tomorrow - I was asking about the weapons they'll have and they should have 5-6 to choose from... the ones I remember were:

M16
Uzi 9mm
MP5
Colt SMG in 9mm

So the price is going to be $40 or $45 to rent the weapon and you have to purchase their ammo... hmmm... can't really go nuts and rent a bunch this time - so which would you shoot??!??

From That List I would Go with the MP5 most likely.
Dont know though,as I have never even shot an Automatic Brass Slinger

my vote for the mp5. Ammo's cheaper so you can buy more of it

I've shot the first three, and I would shoot the MP5. Never tried the colt SMG.

The MP5 is fun but i like the Uzi better- heavier & a slower cycling rate, easier to keep strings from "stringing" or walking. Would either be supressed?
I bet there's a MAC or two

Never done M16.

What Colt are you talking about- Colt made a thompson but those are on the high end of the $$ scale, around 30gs, so I would be surprised to here someone would be considering renting one of those out.
Sure it wasn't a S&W M76, one of the tube guns.

He's talking about one of the Colt 9mm ARs, the SMG.

Uzi all the way. The MP-5 is aight, but the Uzi is sweet.

ok - well post range visit report - the guys with the auto weapons sighted them in and then vanished upstairs, so I put down-range a couple hundred rounds on the glock while I was waiting - then went over and started talking to some club members who had their own full autos - one guy had an MP-5 with the FBI trigger on it and an "SD" (not sure what that means, but it was a built in suppressed SMG - 3 tax stamps he said) - he very kindly let me finish a magazine on the SD and a bunch of double-shots on his MP-5 - nice!!!!

Anway - the guys with the big box of guns FINALLY came back and I was first with my 4 boxes of WWB I had to purchase there and the MP-5 they had was a factory with safe/semi/full settings - I can proudly say that I misses the target at 25 yds with only TWO of my 200 bullets - that BG on the paper is OFFICIALLY DEAD! :sifone:

The 15 minutes of fun was a VERY rapid way to blow 4 boxes of ammo - and all told I was out of pocket about $92 with the ammo and rental fee - but they did throw in a free hotdog and soda for the first 50 customers of which I was definitely one (being first to pay and shoot I must have been first I reckon).

All in all - anyone get the chance - those MP-5's are VERY fun - next month I reckon I'll go M4/M16 - good thing they're having a full auto day each month!!

UZI hands down. It's pure open bolt fun.

HK 53 or a Krink unless you can run a 21 or 23 E ;)

Hell, Thompson would be my first choice, followed closely by a beltfed.

Full auto fun and not one mention of a Ma Deuce? Everybody forget to bring their testicles along?

At the going rate for 50BMG ammo, a Vegas hooker be cheaper & for a longer time !

For pure fun, if you ever get a chance, a CZ Scorpion in the original .32 ACP is a rush..at about 1300rpm if I remember correctly.

1300 :yikes:

Like a Mac .380

Brass flyin like popcorn

.380 subgun is fun but prolly da worst idea for a subgun ever. Ammo/components expensive as hell an da damn thang run so fast you almost can't enjoy it

I like somethin in da 750-850 range myself

Get the 9mm version, the M11 and put a Lage upper on it. Drops the RPM to around 600, you can step it up to 750 or 900 RPM with a different bolt also.

I mentioned the Scorp because it's just soooo tiny.
Czech tank crews were issued the thing as a SIDEARM.
Hell, I've got squirtguns that are larger & heavier !

'Slick's right about being too fast to really enjoy, but the first mag full is a real HOOT !

I've fired a converted Glock 34 and it was just uncontrollable. There was a barrel grip on the underside pictinny and it didn't help much.

I'd love to try a COLT AR 9mm. That's GOT to be controllable. I'd love to play with an exotic Ruger 10/22 but the UZI would be on my short list.

Full auto is fun but with full auto you also get full auto recoil, if you're sensitive to recoil it's not much fun.

If I won the lotto probably the first full-auto I would buy would be an AM-180 just cuz they are so neat. A friend of mine has a full auto AR with a .22 conversion and the recoil is enough to make it hard to stay on target even though it's just a .22.

I'll tell you what ain't fun...try hitting the scales at about 110 and picking one of these up fully loaded. It feels like (pardon the pun) an ANVIL.

I got a chance to shoot a couple M16's . Fun yes but if was buying something full auto it would be 9mm.

Dood at the range was shooting a silenced/auto Mac in 9mm. Havin a good old time, no ear protection required.
Im getting ready to shoot, say "hey bud, ya got any ear protection?"
He says " I got a silencer" (duh)

I say " Yea........ I dont, put some ear protection on""

I can vouch that M11/9 is the most full auto fun I've had shy of my buddy's full auto .22LR AR-15. The Macs will pour a waterfall of brass out the side of em even though I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn even if I was inside it.

R, lean into the weapon while firing it, especially a sub machine gun or sub gun, it makes shouldering and firing it a blast. With a little practice you can dot the i(s) and cross the t(s). It always surprises someone on the range when they see a beautiful petit lady handling and shooting a sub gun with authority.

I had a really hard time with everything of his, with the exception of the sniper rifle, mostly because of the weight. I'm sure it must be easier to control one when you're heavier. The same thing tends to happen to me at Oleg's place. He'll try to get me to hold the heaviest thing he's got and the whole time I'm wincing and saying "just take the damned picture!!!"

Take the stock off your shoulder and move it closer to the center of your chest, off your collar bone or thereabouts. Hunch over it, smother it like you are about to mount it before you shoot and you can control muzzle rise.
Goofy compared to normal shooting but normal stance doesn't work no matter how much you try and dig in.

I feel sure I'll get to try some of this advice in about a month. The machine gun shoot that normally happens was cancelled due to flooding but another one in the Tulsa Area is happening soon and Robert and I intend to be there.

Belchfire from AR15 (beltfed @ uzitalk) and I went to local fish & game yesterday, he had IM me earlier last week needing to borrow a suppressor for 22LR to use on Fleming 22LR/M10 kit.

I went over, took 2 cans, and G-17 w/22 kit, M11, and 9mm AR-15 SBR, finally got to test them 147gr cohutts and 147gr ANeats that I received a while back, M11 and AR ate them right up, used 3.8gr WST for motivation.

Dee had a link driven lower for 223, and an AAC Ranger, awfull small can for M16 use, and an AR47 set up to use the link. I shot both, and that AR47 has a rather nice bump about it, even when run full auto. I let him give my 223 can a good heating up.

His M10 is still hit/miss with the 22LR kit, but he is going to cut the forward portion of the eject port forward a bit to allow the 22 shells to clear better. We put my WARRIOR on it, sound kinda funny with the large 8.5" long and 1.75" OD .223 can on it.

I had forgotten about those, glad they fed OK.

I kind of like the smell of the wst and lars red combo with those i sent you; i only went to 3.6g and am getting around 970fps in the G17.

Can you identify the ones you loaded and shot from this pic?
