I do not want to beat on it but I am not sure what to do.
On my old lee there was a third level. This just has a little nub sticking out.
Please help

Yep, give it a whack. Use a wooden handle, nylon faced hammer, or lead hammer

I use a rubber mallet for my sprue plate whacker.

Are you saying I should not be using my roofing hammer?
I was wacking it with some woodedn dowel like thing that I got from midway for 10 bucks. Then I wack the bullets out.

good molds don't require much whacking, or smoking.

I use a rubber mallet for my sprue plate whacker.
I limpwrist.

I just use a CRB-certified piece of old 1x2 wood that was laying around the first day that I cast. Tossed it into my casting box and it still serves me well.

I limpwrist.
On my Lee 401-145-SWC mold I just swing the mold off to the side and the sprue plate cuts. Weird.

I use da big ol plastic/rubber handle on a busted screwdriver. My favorite.

I actually found that once the mold gets up to temp and the sprue is pretty hot that it kind of does just what Freak said. It just about swings over on its own.
I was just not waiting until it got hot enough.
Thanks for the suggestions.

A leather-gloved hand can swing the sprue plate pretty well, I use the thumb/forefinger web portion of my right hand while holding the mold handles in my left hand. A small rawhide mallet is near at hand for recalcitrant sprues.
