LIke I told yall before, first, they'll be a lotta well publicized shootings from nut cases, then the media will try once again to demonize the American gun owners.

Then, here comes the anti legislation - just like when Clinton was in office.

Notice the pattern here ?

but seriously .... it is so damaging to us to have these nutballs being "legal" gun owners. I don't know what you can do about it ... somebody can be "normal", meet all requirements for legal gun ownership today .... then a few years from now the situation changes ...

Al, who decides who is a "nutjob"? I know people who think anyone who voted for Obama is a nut and others who believe that anyone who voted for McCain is a nut.

What I am about to say won't be appreciated by all: this is the price we pay for living in a free society. The only way to totally eliminate these chance happenings is to totally disarm everyone. Stuff happens.

Which world do you want to live in?

I believe the answer is to encourage and do whatever is possible to encourage gun ownership. You never hear about one of these shootings at a gun range, gun show, or fairgrounds or other places. We also need more publicity about the use of firearms for protection.

FWIW, Mike Gallagher is going to buy a gun now. He's planning to develop a list to encourage 1st time gun owners to responsibly buy guns for self defense. I caught some of his discussion today.

THis kind of thing has been happening for decades, just the almost instant availability of news today makes it seem like more. It has been happening more frequently lately.

But, who ya gonna blame ? Psychiatrists ? Neighbors ? Family ? Coworkers ? You know, all those who said they weren't suprised by the actions of the person with a loose screw ?

You can blame everyone from the immediate family and acquaintences to the Manchurian Candidate programs of the 60's.

Bottom line is, a nut is a nut, and ya gotta be able to defend yourself. If any of those shot would have been armed, or had some ability with a gun and were in the right mindset, a lot of the casualties could've been avoided.

Even those with a gun by profession or permit get lax in their awareness.

Let your gaurd down and you're no help.

Best thing is to train, keep sharp and pray for the families and loved ones of all involved.

Banning guns wouldn't prevent stuff like this. The nuts will use another means; a car, a fire, a club, a knife, whatever.

A nut is a nut - period.

If ya ain't gonna lock em up when ya should, these things are gonna happen

I don't know if it can be put more accurately. A nut is a nut.

Maybe not. At least the Libtards can't yell "gunshow loophole!!" or some other BS. So far the Blue Dog Dems are firm: no more gun control as it's a political loser.

Anyone think these shootings could bring things to a head & turn out positive? What I'm talking about is if more people are afraid of these shootings & chose to get a gun for self defense then we get political momentum going in our direction even more. It could go either way. There IS in fact, a soft buzz in the media these days (below the roar of the anti-agenda) about the shocking possibility that more armed citizens might actually be the answer to these tragic events. We just gotta capitalize on this buzz. Stir it up & get a bull horn in front of it. More mass shootings may do that for us.

I can see ammo supplies shrink , prices go up , Clubs & range not being able to afford permits and insurance. Land access being restricted . You'll end up like some Euro gun club with a high price membership indoor ranges . Where you leave your gun locked up .

That's basically what I was sayin, normal today, nutz tomorrow and who could anticipate that. As the economic problems spread the number of affected people becoming desperate will increase as well.

My local sheriff, who is pro gun and pro CCW, told me that he sat in on a recent CCW class, and noticed one of the students sat in the back wearing a flack jacket. This was strange enough that he decided to interview this guy personally. Something normally left for one of his grunt desk jockeys. During the interview, after the normal questions about name and length of time in the county, the sheriff finally just asked why he was wearing a flack jacket. The sheriff told me the guy leaned in close and whispered "because they're after me". Like it was a bad made for TV movie! Needless to say the guy didn't get a permit, but those guys are out there. Just think if that guy could have held his crazy in check just long enough to get through the class and the interview, he would have a CCW permit. Boggles the mind....
