So, I was heavily cautioned about using the GLOCK OE barrel with hot loads in the G20. Turned out to not be an issue.

Using Longshot + 180gn GoldDot JHP + Wolf primer, **NEW starline brass**, 1.250" oal I worked all the way up to 9.7gn of powder.

** 9.5gn of Longshot is max book data for this cartridge. **

Notes: the edges of the Wolf primers, normally rounded flattened right out even at book MINIMUM charge weights (8.5gn) which leads me to believe the Wolf large pistol primers are not as hard as the CCI small pistol primers I'm used to. Very close inspection & comparison revealed that the heavier the charge weight was the more the primer cup flowed to a larger diameter. The difference between min & max charge primer diameter is only apparent by direct comparison though. One of five test loads at 9.7gn showed a razor-thin line of soot half way around the rim of the primer.

At 9.5-9.7 charge weights I noticed what I can only describe as increased stress on the brass where one would normally see the typcial GLOCK pregnant belly. My loads did NOT have a pregnant belly and I can only chalk that up to the combination of new brass & the better chamber support of the current GLOCK barrel design.

Best accuracy was seen in the middle charge weights with noticeable loss of accuracy above 9.5gn.

Also did a workup for WSF...

New starline brass, 6.5gn - 7.7gn, CCI small pistol primer, 1.250" oal, 165gn winchester FMJ.

** There is no book data for this load. Steve's pages lists something similar though.

Notes: I didn't try to push this batch too far but I suspect there's still some room above 7.7gn. As far as I took it the recoil only felt like the 9.1~9.2gn Longshot loads. I saw no pressure signs at all. Anything <7.0gn WSF is the softest shooting I've ever felt. IMO, 6.5gn was softer then some of the .22lr rimfire I've shot. If a timid first time shooter can get a comfortable grip on the G20SF frame this would be a great load for a first trip to the range.

WSF get funky at the upper limit, I have used it in 45 Super. Goes from safe to scary in .2 gr. What were your results with WSF specifically?

Not yet. I plan to get both of these loads out on a private range where I can bust out my chrono for the first time. I'll update the data in the OP when I do later in the spring.

I've recently been using LS under 165gr-175gr bullets in the 10mm & like it. WSF is now my goto powder in the 40s&w. I haven't gotten around to testing it in the 10mm, but it would be at best a med. vel. load.

I got that impression from my tests too Fred. WSF is da bomb in .40 but felt like weak sauce in the 10mm compared to LS. I'll still chrono some loads when I get the chance though.
