My Lyman moly kit works great for bigger bullets.

But .224" bullets fall through the .280 ~ .320" slots in the separator.
The ceramic media is .180" in diameter.
The Lyman instructions say to go buy a strainer:(

Another solution is to use Copper plated .177" steel BBs as media and magnetically separate the media from the coated bullets.

I put a powerful magnet in a plastic jug with a strap attached to the magnet. I wrapped the jug tangentially with rope and duck tape, so the BBs can only stick to the bottom of the jug.

I pass the jug over the BBs and coated bullets, causing the BBs to stick to the jug.
I hold the jug over another container, pull on the magnet strap, and the BBs fall into the container.

This takes ~ 15 minutes to vibrate-moly-coat and ~ 1 minute to separate 6,000 Copperhead BBs [now black] from 250 6mm 65 gr Vmax bullets.

What does it all mean?
The BBs coat faster and separate faster than the ceramic media.

This is a worthy tip. Thank you for sharing it.

After moly-coating a few thousand bullets, the most valuable tip I could give you would be to stop moly-coating your bullets. :)

"No, but dad taught me not to piss on my hands..."

+1, I still haven't heard a convincing argument as to why to do this. Maybe it could be an episode of Mythbusters...Myth..Moly coated bullets are the shizznit and even better than sliced bread.

lol - sounds like me... wash yourself regularly and remember not to urinate on yourself and the only reason to wash your hands is when you have to touch something you can't be sure is clean in the public restroom - I'd hate to see how many germs are found in those places - not touching anything in there is best way to keep yourself clean I reckon!

What I really want to know, though, is does the five second rule apply in a public service station restroom?

No, Mythbusters busted the 5 second rule a while ago. I'm starting to think I watch that show way too much...but its mostly because of Kari.

About half the benchrest guy use moly and half do not.
The moly lets them go ~13 rounds instead of ~8 before cleaning.

But for long range rodents with thousands of rounds fired, the ratio is much higher.
I can shoot 500 rounds from a .5" rifle in 5 hours, and it is still a .5" rifle.
No cleaning at all.
I have to keep the velocity down to 3500~3600 fps.
It has to be a good barrel.
