Star baseplate question

I'm having an aluminum plate cut to place under the Star when I mount it to my reloading bench. How thick should I go on this plate? I was thinking 1/8 inch, but I'm unsure.

Go at least a quarter; 1/8 will flex too much.

I got my plate the other day and am quite happy with it. I gave the feller what made it a bag of stuff I had lying around as a thank you. Errybody real happy.
