Hi I wanted to let everyone know I called Dillion today because of an issue with my 550b WOW had the problem fixed in 5 minutes then got some great advise new things to try and a place that still had 45 acp plated bullets I bought 500 rounds. No I only have 200 primer left.:( Yes the problem with the Dillion was me I tighten the plate down to much making it hard to turn. But what a great company! I can not seem to get lee to help me with my priming issue. I put the primer in right but they turn and insert upside down in the case. I am done even trying to figure it out. I have not posted for a while but I have been loading with the dillion and am getting better. Where the hell was i going with this oh well Dillion is one great company!

Dillon is A+ IMHO. I've had two separate dealing with them and in each incident their customer service was top notch. Can't say enough good things about them. :)

You solved your problem with your Lee press, you bought a Dillon. Good choice!

You blue boys make me laugh. In a lifetime of reloading I've owned the green, orange, and both reds, I admit never the blue. However the others treated me very well with their customer service and the problem were usually my fault. Lee's stuff is for people who want to save $$$ and don't mind a learning curve. I'd be happy to compare any volume of ammo loaded side by side with Dillon's for primer seating, powder weight, OAL, speed, etc. or at the range.
It has more to do the the reloader himself than the tools used.
Let the flames begin:)

I was just wondering of how many would not have bought the LNL if it were not for the so-called free bullets?
It well be also interesting too see how many would still have bought the LNL after you have loaded 100,000 pulse rounds threw it.

As far as the bullets go that wasn't the reason I went with the L& AP, I have several friends that have Dillons, they were the ones that convinced me to go with the Hornady LNL AP, two of them liked them so well they bought a second one just to leave it set up for another heavily used caliber, the others are using there LNL's as there primary press and there Dillons for some of the other calibers, these guys are well over there first 100,000 rounds on there first LNL AP. if you haven't tried one you owe it to yourself to do so, I'm glad I look them all over first, the bullets for me , were just puddin on the cake or is that icing.

Did they have 550 or 650 with a case feeder?

Bob they all have 550's, three also have 650 Dillons, most of them kept there 550, and two sold their 650's, You know Dillon makes a great press, I don't question this a bit, and after doing my own home work and looking at all there was available, I just liked the LNL AP over the rest, and I'm speaking for my needs on this, but when I finally went to talk to my friends that I thought were Dillon all the way, I was surprised to hear them say go with the Hornady LNL AP, they felt the same way I did about this press, which blew me away.

I understand what you are saying. But you look at what has been written here and on GT and the problems that the LNL has had, and some that you have too buy from a outside vender to make the press work right and a company that did not do anything about the complaints for years. Yes there are some features on the LNL that I do like. I wish I knew someone that has a LNL. The only trouble everyone I know all have Dillions.
I can see the ones that have a Dillon and chase the setting on the powder measure etc. where the LNL is better. But I have two tool head with powder measure installed for each of the calibers that I load for. One measure stays at the same amount of powder that I use all the time. The other one is for if I want to try something different. I also have two priming systems. So basically I do not chase setting.
Is the Dillon 100% perfect? No. I have done about10 simple cheap modifications on my 650 too make it almost 100%. Working on #11.
Granted I look at complaints that are posted. Do they know what they are talking about? I know I read a lot of post that people say about the 650, you cant do this, it is harder to do that etc. Buy people that do not have a Dillon or by people that have one and do not know how to operate it. Not saying that I’m 100% knowledgeable of the 650. Work in progress.
If I wasn’t so damm old, and Obama screw up the economy I might consider get a LNL and trying it out then selling it.
.
I am one of those that had problems and tracked it down to one thing , ME !
I recently had a problem I did not post about till now .
I felt Stupid so I did not post .
Was having trouble priming the case had to be pushed back just a bit . Called Hornady and he said maybe the case retainer spring was to tight and sent me another .
It did not fix it .
Ended up being Ham handed Bill I pulled the spring for the primer slide to far and messed it up .
Cut a few coils out and put it back on .
Works Great now .
The PTX die works people have posted directions to get it working correctly.
Why buy one for ever caliber though when you can just buy one to use for any caliber from Dan ?
I got the 1000 free bullet paper setting right here .
Did not even send it in yet .:)
And my Loadmaster's work Great also ! :43:
Got a SDB it works Great too ! :43:

Bob I know where your coming from, I'm retired now, and have been loading on a Rock Chucker for years now, I want you to understand, I'm not saying any thing is bad about your Dillon 650, I might have gotten one them too, this is my first Progressive press, I relied on others to help me on my choices, not ever having one it was intimidating at first, but my Pards helped me with that too, by telling me different people to go see and get a first hand opinion on looks and how they operate, and this went on for over a year, being retired I had lots of time to do my home work, so for me my choice was based on my needs, with the bushing set up I can use these two press together, and can change the line up on the press head, I don't know which is faster, I'm not into speed these days , I just wanted a press that I could load my ammo with a lot more ease than the chucker, I ve had two shoulder surgery's in tha last three years, and wanted a good press that would produce a round with every crank of the handle. and if it wasn't a LNL, it would of been a Dillon, both these Company's are good to do business with, and I don't have anything bad to say about Hornady, they have been great so far.
So Happy loading to you, I know I'm enjoying mine.
Best Regards
