I got to sorting through my brass and found that I have 2000 9mm cases marked FC 9mm.

They work alright? I know that .223 FC brass is soft, so I was wondering if there are any issues with this brand of pistol brass.

I load lots of FC 9mm brass, some of the most consistent handgun brass around. It's good stuff.

FC rifle brass sucks.

About 500 FC is among my .40 S&W brass. No problems there.

I have used it in my 243 Win and 223 Rem loads without any problems.

I use FC all of the time, even in .223 and never have had any issues with it at all.

I won't load "F C" marked brass to 40 major power (nor PMC 40 brass). I might load it for minor power loads (in a pinch), but I won't bring it home to do again.

No troubles with "F C" in normal 9mm loads.

Flex, what do you define as "normal loads"?

FC marked .40S&W sucks. It is weak crap.
Federal marked .40S&W is excellent.

FC 9mm is the best 9mm brass on the market. It is softer than other brands, but it does not matter at 9mm pressures. I have taken these cases to 40000+ PSI (124gr w/7grs of Power Pistol) without issues. These cases are the longest, all sizing to .751"+ and most consistent in weight.

Federal thought enough of their 40 S&W "FC" stamped duty ammo to pay shipping and exchange it 2 for 1 to get it out of my hands. Any 40 FC brass goes into the scrap bucket for me. The other Fed is aight, but plenty of anecdotal reports on the American Eagle FC .223 brass being soft, thick walls and thin webs, and having loose primer pocket issues. I've reloaded OLD American Eagle 223 brass that seemed to perform alright for a few reloads.

I guess I'm the "wet blanket" in this thread. I habitually retrieve the range brass at my shooting hole and far and away, the most splits are in FC marked brass. Of course, I don't know the history of the range pickups only that, seldom do I get obviously "bad" stuff other than FC and the occasional WCC. AFAIK, either or both these could be older military stuff. I do know that more often than not, the brass appears flawed...discolored through and through. (I think the one "WIN" marked case in the image below is the first I've come across).

Looks like those came out of a subgun, but normally a subgun has more of pronounced firing pin mark.

AFAIK, no subguns allowed there...handgun only.
