Academy Sports Surprise...

Had my old .270 Vanguard pillar-bedded just to see what it can do and just picked it up. I swung by the local Academy to grab a couple boxes of factory loads to get a benchmark on whether the bedding made a difference and, decide if it's worth loading for. Got my stuff and while perusing the handgun section on the way out what do I see...? Can you believe they have a G-17L and a G-24 side-by-side in the case. Who'd a' ever thought...Academy, of all places. I've gotta' tell you, I need another Glock like I need swine flu but if either one of the bad boys was wearing the RTF frame I'd a left with it...maybe, both.

They stock them regularly here but only the most popular versions. I have NEVER seen a long-slide displayed in ANY gun store much less, the 9MM & .40 versions together.

$649.00 each for the G-17L or G-24, Slick. Probably not too bad a price on those but I can buy through LE Distributors for a lot less but...problem is, on those models they're not to be had. Glock only makes a very limited number annually so if I ordered one, likely be looking a a year's wait.

Nashville's Academy has glocks and at a good price too! Never saw a long
slide there. They was out of 26/27's.. sellin fast.

Did they have ammo? Member when they Use ta have cci 9mm blazer at $3.99bx 50's..no one liked that luna-min stuf... cept me !
