I am really looking hard at getting the Ruger LCP and was wondering how hard it is to load for the .380 auto. I see that Lee sells the 3 die set, for my LCT, but not sure where to buy the boolits from. Precision Delta and Precision Bullets don't make any in .380. Would I be fine to use the 115gr 9mm or would that be too heavy?

Loading .380 is not much more difficult than other calibers. Case volume and powder charges are small so a small variance can make a large difference.

Many companies make bullets intended for the .380 including Freakshow if I remember correctly.

Data for the 115gr bullets can be found but that is a heavy bullet in that cartridge. (think 255gr bullet in .45 auto 180gr in .357)

I load .380 on my 550B. I usually use 90-95gr cast bullets.

My tweezers got lost so that is one caliber i still buy factory ammo for.

Seriously i have a hundred rounds of defense ammo and maybe 50 of fmj for my only 380, the gun Ruger copied :biggrinjester: the P3AT

I shoot a magazine through it every 6 months or so, clean it, put it back in my sock or pocket or ankle hoster etc. There isn't much target practice to be doing with 14 oz gun that has a 2 1/2" barrel. If you can smell them you can hit them, maybe it gets them off of you long enough to get your real gun out
