Was shooting my 21 today. 230 grain Lee TC lubed with Felix lube over 5.8 grains Unique. I fired aprox. 75 rounds, shot well, no excessive recoil, flash, noise, flattened primers, anything. got home cleaned the barrel and theres a pressure ring just ahead of the lock up lugs. WTF? :cryin: guess it's time to put it in the safe 'till I have enough for a LWD barrel for it. About the only thing I can think of is at the end of the session I fired 3 fmj rounds loaded with 5 grains of unique, but again I noticed nothing unusual with them.

Can you see the bulge on the outside of the barrel. Can you measure it??

Can you post a picture?

Could it have been there before?

Are you sure it's a pressure sign?

Measurement; as near as my aging eyes can tell with the aid of my dial calipers it is .010-.012.
Photo; camera's TU, cell phone wont talk to the 'puter
The bulge was not there before, I'd not have noticed it except after I ran my usual wet dry, wet dry, patch sequence through there was clean shining bore with a ring of crud about 1/2-3/4" ahead of the chamber, and clean shining bore from there to the muzzle.
If I hold a straight edge between the bulge and the muzzle it "looks" as if the gap is about .005 which is consistent with the measurements I took.

That sucks, and I've done the same thing a bazillion times.

Man that sucks. I was talking to a Glock Armorer and he was telling me that exact same thing. He said if you shoot a jacketed bullet after lead without cleaning then the jacketed bullet would build up a donut of lead and bulge the barrel. I hope thing turn out OK for you.

I talked about this a bit before, http://www.glockpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118.

Clean the barrel in between running lead and jacketed!

What I get for backsliding and shootin' jacketed 'stead of lead like God intended. Wanted a LWD anyhow but for the 20 not the 21. I'll finish up a kayak in the next week or so and will have funds. 'Till then I'll just pack the Webley.
