What do you think of this load.
AA No.5 9.5 grains
magnum primers
165 grain JFP
LWD barrel.

I think it prolly isn't as good as 6.6gr WSF wit a 165 Jacketed WLP/CCI 300 @ 1.250
Depends on what ya trying to achieve
Plus, IME a mag primer isn't necessary wit #5
That sounds like a weak load for 10mm. Not that I know anything about it. It's just that 6.6gr WSF is the upper end for .40s&w. Seems like a 10mm ought to be able to do a little better then that. No?

My load data says that 9.5 AA No. 5 should produce 1200 fps with a 165 grain bullet.
But I agree it sounds really light. The thing that is strange about this load is that this powder is really dense. It sits in the bottom of the case and looks very lonely. You could double charge the 10mm case and I am not even sure it would be a compression load.
I was just asking about the magnum primers cause I happen to have some laying around looking for a home.
Next time I buy powder for laoding 10mm I will be buying Longshot. Right now I am trying to use up some stuff I have.

Look, folks, Accurate powders for the 10mm need to be #7 or #9. Leave #5 for the 45. Say it with me: Number five for the forty-five.
#9 isn't economical by any means, a 165gr will take 11.5-12gr #7 or 14.5-15gr #9.
My rule is anything 10gr or over, gets CCI350s. Do it. It's for the children.
Drop 9.2gr LS behind a 180gr with a standard CCI300. Then pay omage to 'Slick.

I love Longshot. I got some mo data to back up the freaky stuff I got a few months ago (1450 fps with a 155 grain XTP) - 1400 fps in a touch cooler weather, out of a standard-length Glock 29.
