It isn't benchrest, but it is a great time and $1 from each target goes to Americansnipers.org. You shoot from the ground. $3.50 a target, max 4 centerfire and 4 rimfire targets allowed per shoot.

The two times I have participated have yielded me very lukewarm personal results, but have been a riot. Several of us in the IA HTF at ARFCOM get together and do it at one guy's house, but company isn't necessary for this shoot. By the time we get around to shooting several of us are either jacked up on a pot of coffee or so full of the host's food that we can hardly lay on our stomachs to shoot.
It is a mail match, but the winner is determined by participation (sending back a target) rather than having the best score. The scores are for bragging rights and on the honor system.
If you are on the fence, check out the prizes page. There is some cool stuff in there, and as you can see from the prior score sheets, there is not an ungodly number of participants who send their score sheets full circle.
