Anyone had one, or know of one? I've seen one picture on the net and it looked like the case ruptured, but real damage to the gun. I'm talking about cracked reciever the whole 9 yards. Like a .40 or .45 KB.

I remember reading somewhere that the Glock 9mm, the cartridge limits, as it relate to the strength of the model 17 were that the 9mm didn't have the power to KB the G17. Now I'm sure you compress a full case of tite group and you'll make a problem but I've never seen a 9mm glock kb. Actually the 17 is on my short list.
i seen a 9mm KB at a match in orlando few years ago. other than the mag catch it didn't hurt the gun.

Yeah thats the pic I saw. The gun doesn't look like it has any major damage. It looks like you could clear it and start shooting again. I wanted to see one with a cracked reciever or just completly fubar'd

Cohutt's pic is not a really unusual occurance. It's not a KB. It's a piece of ruptured brass. I've had 3 of 'em. One was new Win bulk 115 grain while practicing for a GSSF match; and one was a once fired Win brass handload with 130 pf IDPA load with Tite and 135 jrn bullet. No double charge. The brass just let go. Blew another piece of Win brass while working up 9 major. Don't use Win for 9 major now.
Still have all the ruptured brass pieces.
Make me big eyed with surprise and sting my fingers. No damage to either Glock except soot.

The "inventor" of the term, "KB", claims all ruptured brass cases, etc., to be KBs. My definition is something that causes cracked chambers, etc., usually the result of a double-charge or other event causing ultra-high pressures.

That looks like a piece of Sig brass from the apparent neck in the pic. Don't read too much about KBs in Sig. Is it Sig?

AHH so. Want to tell the story? Still have 2 hands? More to the point, does old Duke still have 2 ears?

Who invented the term? I am curious.
