Georgia Does It Right!!!!!

You don't have a soul if you don't get tears (http://e.blip.tv/scripts/flash/showplayer.swf?file=http%3A%2F%2Fblip.tv/rss/flash/2257594&showplayerpath=http%3A%2F%2Fblip.tv/scripts/flash/showplayer.swf&feedurl=http://repdavis.blip.tv/rss/flash&brandname=blip.tv&brandlink=http://blip.tv/%3Futm_source%3Dbrandlink&enablejs=true)

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link above is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored. Please share.

Sadly you won't see things like that much outside of the South from what I've experienced. And to think people in CA think we have it wrong in the South and we're just racist country bumpkins that like to hang black folk when we're bored. They'll just never understand.

Thank you to Sergeant Beale and his family for the sacrifices they've made for all of us. Also, I want to say thank you to every person in that video standing on the side of the road to show respect to a fallen soldier.

It is nice to see that, very rare you see it for the ones that come home after fighting for freedom. It ain't jes jawja... I'm sure there plenty that come back like that and sure that some come back alive in that fashion. It's damn well deserved.

Sleep well at night, Thank a soldier.....Thank a VET!!!!

It is great to see that's for sure. What bothers me is the brave young soldier out of San Francisco or Berkeley that goes against the grain of the people around him, and what kind of honor he gets when he comes back home with a flag draped over his coffin.
